Freo are a great side, I thought they could finish top 5 before the season started, they defeinitely have the cattle and the flair to achieve that. They've wasted two years, could have got a little further in 2003 and just showed their spirit by lying down too easily. Last year they had some very disappointing losses, like to Collingwood, that was one of the worst 'efforts' (if you could call it that) I've seen. Unless they can turn it around it looks like being another mediocre season for them, they should at the very least make finals but the players don't seem to have the dedication or will to do that.

And it's a direct result of their Coach and the way he goes about his job, a tough bastard that wont tolerate soft attitudes and lack of endeavour.

A few good wins and most will be back on the cc wagon.

Personally I'll wait till the end of season to pass judgement on cc's performance.

Hopefully a few supporters will be feeling foolish at that time.

No chance of that. We need a top 4 finish and a good finals run before I will ever get back on the CC wagon. Will not accept a bottom eight finish and a one game final.

Jarman you're on the money. Connolly said at a press conf prior to the season
that the the club had "arrived" after the "journey". He was a prime mover in getting josh, blacky and the injured schofield to the club. There was talk of a high top 8 finish.

We now had the midfield and the goal to goal line. We were going to kick butt.

fast forward to after round 9, side is exposed as being slow in the midfield running near 16th in clearences and Supposedly Mentally fragile when the heat goes on. Season balancing on knife edge could be Gorn in next 4 weeks!!

We have a man mountain that plays too "one dimensional" gets his hand to the balll but does not translate into clearances.

Have a good attack but can't get it to them properly on a consistent basis.

For the faithful to be asking for axing of players is counter productive.

The Heat needs to go onto the footy dept that both cam and connolly have put together to lift their game . There are so many with their snouts in the trough its unbelievable.

Might still yet, once we get our first choice backline in that we havn't had all year.

Yet to have them all on the park at the same time yet all fit and firing.

Made great progres in clearances in the last five rounds, still room for improvement though.
Bolster the midfield for this round (size & weight wise at least) with the additions of Dunn & Crowley.

First few rounds for sure but was 2nd in the league for "taps to advantage" in rounds 8 and 9.
Probably leading the league in the last 3 rounds.

At times, didn't seem to be aproblem rounds 6.7.8.

The axe swung fairly savagely this week yet we still have a goodlooking team matchup wise, What othe rchanges would you suggest?

Are you really a freo supporter or are you just regurgitating the crap Hardie & George sprout?

I think one of the problem lies in the players' lack of respect for Connolly and the rest of the coaching staff. Look at WC, the players seem to bleed for Worsfold. If we had a coach who was a tough footballer and had a distinguished career perhaps the players would show more guts and commitment?

WCE (maybe even slighty below the potential of Freo's list)

I have thought the exact same thing for the last couple of years. It was a real shame that our board didn't push harder for Worsfold. CC was supposedly hired for his apparent tactical abilities, but perhaps this sort of role is more suited to an assistant. Once a team reaches a certain level of ability what is needed from a senior coach is motivation!!

We have heard that CC doesn't like to berate or belittle players in public or the media. Well some kind of motivation tactic is need, & bloody soon or this seasons goal of gaining serious finals experience is going down the toilet.

I actually expect a pretty good performance today - maybe even a close game. The big thing that frustrates me about CC is the team's ability to pull out the good performances when really under the pump. But give them any sort of expectation of a win and they fail. CC is soft, the lads are soft, and we the supporters are soft for jumping back on his bandwagon every time we pull out a win. The comments at the start of this thread are spot on.

Will we miss our window? Yes, probably under the current regime.

Are there other good coaches out there? Yes, probably, but we wouldn't know how to find them.

As said earlier, I reckon the boys will really have a crack and people might want to stick the boot into me. Time will tell. In the meantime, there is no doubt that he lost the playing group last year and can not get them back.

If you guys had hired Worsfold instead of Connolly you would be sitting where the West Coast are sitting now - on top.

Who would you rather have? Tough, dual premiership captain who's got total respect in the footy community OR hack Melbourne player talking crap all the time.

Connolly=No respect.

A good quarter of a season and now you have the right to come to our board and preach? Get stuffed!

Richmonds season isn't over yet. Still time to do the usual self destruct.
