Seven off the senior list: Gov, Sheed (retired), Allen (FA), Hunt, Petch, Jamieson, Barnett (delisted)

Seven onto the senior list: Promote Dewar, four draft picks, one recycled player (Erasmus/Robertson/Sheldrick/Garcia/etc), then use the seventh spot on either promoting Hutch, taking a second recycled player (possibly off the ruck merry go round) or taking a fifth draft pick.

Three or four off the rookie list: Dewar and possibly Hutch promoted, Rawlinson and Newton delisted.
One or two onto the rookie list to take us up to six (McCarthy, Brock, Livingstone (Cat B), Champion (Cat B), pick 1 RD, Hutch or second round RD)

Got NFI ‘who’ but watching our seniors waltz around collecting paycheques more often than getting touches I’d be happy adding another ‘senior standard setter’ to the squad for 2026.

Not sure if the names being bandied around (Devs, Sheldricks etc al) can do that.

Patrick Cripps is your man.

Tonight was confirmation that Hunt joins Gov in retirement for mine.

Jamieson, Petrucelle and Rawlinson are definitely getting delisted. Chess, Bazzo and Lingston have the next two months to keep their careers afloat.

I know Barnett is contracted to next year but his receding form is concerning.

I wouldn't be opposed to a year deal for Cripps, but on the proviso you are depth in the WAFL

Will provide good leadership for the kids and is a known good trainer to help set standards.

With Sheed, Gov and Allen gone (hopefuly Hunt too) we do need to retain some senior heads
Walley will be on the list next year and Williams possibly could be too, then we’re also adding Evans who’ll very quickly be better than Cripps as a HF option.

Love Cripps but nudging him into retirement is an easy decision, can not be playing both him and Owies next year like we did this year until Owies got injured.

I'd love Blake Kelly on our list.

Lot to like as he has a real dip, needs to tidy up his hands in close as he fumbled badly a couple of times today, that both cost goals.

I would think that he has certainly lifted his rating on white boards with his efforts over the Championships.

Chesser is finished. He doesn't have it and never will.

Another pieman reach special, high jump > football brain
We have basically only seen Chesser on a wing in Simmos system where wings get forgotten at AFL level, and hes never had a consistent run at it. Many players look significantly better under a different system, and playing an outside game in the wafl where we have no inside mids is never going to be the best environment to show his stuff

Its a bit presumptuous to say that hes never going to have it.

Chesser Is Done?
yes he is, he should be in the best couple of players pushing for a spot in the WAFL, all day everyday.
I was willing to give him a go when coming back from injury but apart from the 1st game he has done nothing.
I would rather have that list spot for someone else like C Banfield F/S this year who actually has had a solid championships so far playing on the wing.

This is such a ridiculous take though.

So... Because he came on and played a good game as sub once or twice last year (vs Port and Saints from memory) out of 18 games mind you, you think we should gift him another AFL start to see if he can earn a contract extension??

What can he do at AFL level that he can't do right now in the WAFL?? There's no gimp role he's forced to play. He's getting a full unencumbered opportunity, right now, against easier opposition mind you, and he's collecting 14 disposals and being a passenger as Gross and Grego lead the team. This is his chance and he's not taking it.

What's his excuse?
Thats not the only reason why...

Gross is better off playing full games of midfield rather than trying to play as a small forward in the AFL.
Grego has been playing off half back, we arent short on half backs in the main squad right now.

Hunt is the one we want to drop, Chesser is one who id argue needs to spend time in the WAFL the least of all the kids there.

Im talking about bringing him in to play SUB

I think after last night everyone would be in agreement that as a club we 100% don't need Cameron.
100% need him.

Should we pay the price to trade for him is the question. Will be good not to have the opposition ruckman in the coaches votes for once.

Did you watch the state game today mate. Fred MIA, would surely split 2 if we did want to pick him
Doing a Hewett and flying under the radar. Knows he needs to last till Hawks 1st rounder, so no point impressing anyone.

it carry's not weight coming from me but Cripps has kicked one goal in his last 3 outings, and has had less than 10 possessions in 3 of his last 4. He started the year well due to career best conversion rates on his shots on goal which acted like a sugar hit, but the wheels have fallen on now. Noah Long [who we are committed to already in 2026] was dropped after having played his role reasonably well for 2 weeks while Cripps was injured. Nothing he's done since has been an improvement on Long, who actually was improving. Not that I think Long is an obvious long term replacement he's just contracted and offers about the same. Owies also contracted unfortunately. And Dewar to come back into this side as well who kicked 3 vs Brisbane.
Cripps was in good form before he got injured. He seemed to come back very early from the injury and hasn't played at the same level since. I wonder if he came back too early?

I agree with everything here, except I'd be surprised Newton was delisted. The way Mini spoke about him when he got drafted seemed to indicate that we have long-term plans for him.
