Matt Owies.

Bloke looks like if Matt Owies played midfield IMO.

Keen on giving our young Beagles mids some maturity now that Sheed is dead, but gee 177cm's is even smaller than Connor West unfortunately. Smaller than big bodied monster Andrew Gaff.

Brew is also another Mowies bodyshape clone so it's not like there's a truckload of mature big bodied players floating around for us to choose from i guess. Culley, ironically :grimacing:
Every team needs a midget in the middle

How many big bodies mids do we need?

What we lack now is decent smaller mids with run and carry and some zip around the contest.

Already have a heap of big bodied mids to develop.

I'm talking about the Beagles.

When it comes to the WAFL teams young midfield of Gross, Hall, Davis, Chesser etc a large bodied mature onballer would've been nice to bring in.

Henderson might not be that, but he sounds like a professional trainer and hard worker at least.

Would be elite if he can finish the back bit of his career fit and strong. Pre injury he looked like he was going to surpass Cox for the club AA record and quite frankly when he was on the park during those injury riddled seasons he looked on to.

There’ll be a degree of “what if’s” with guys like him, shuey, Nic Nat and Yeo. All had huge chunks of the prime taken by injuries.

Another NGA player for next year; Robert Farmer, plays for Claremont and was in the WA summer squad. Only played two WAFL futures matches. From Albany
thanks, more the better.
He must be a relation of "Wizz" otherwise he would be Freo NGA?

Looks like there are a few others in that group that would be NGA/FS prospects, Harper Banfield, Noah Braun.

The guy's played 5 seasons of 20+ games and won 5 AAs (I'm perhaps fudging it with the cutoff as he played 19 games last year but whatever!). Insane strike rate!

For the 4 seasons of 2020-2023 when he was injured a heap, it's probably fair to conservatively assume another 2 AAs over that period if he had been injury-free.

7AAs total would be the most selections ever by a key defender (1 above Scarlett). He's a freak.

He made the squad in 2015 and should have made the team and really was the face of the Weagles web

He would be related somehow to the wiz but he’s not his son. His Dad is Robbie Farmer who was a very good country footballer, Tambellup connected like the Wiz. One of my good mates who watches a lot of the kids down in Albany has seen Robert play a fair bit and said he’s a gun. See how he goes when he gets to Perth.

Spent a few years around Tambellup many years ago and the name rang a bell.

I’m just going to leave this here for all those who have been critical of the club for not recruiting Lawson Humphries as a Cat B rookie

In his own words, he didn’t deserve to be picked up and wasn’t ready

One year extension for Gov, pretty easy decision to make you'd think. You don't wanna be doing a North and dumping out every possible experienced player you have all at once.

If it contributes to another annual Derby win whilst Freo is "in the Flagdismantle window", easiest decision ever made.

This was Louis' largest goal tally of the season and a very solid all round performance. While most of his goals came from free kicks, he drew them through his work rate and danger level in the forward 50 making his defender panic. I'm not 100% convinced yet with his somewhat awkward kicking technique, but in this game he was a deadeye in front of goal.

2026
Garrison Kenh half back flanker wonderful kick very quick

Lachlan McGlade stand out small forward for 2026 at this very early stage

Both are WCE NGA products

Long way out but 2027 draft could be a key one. Having an NGA or FS in the top 10 of that draft would be ideal as Tassie will take most of the top talent.
