Eagles would definitely trade 2 for 6 and 7.
I think most would. Not sure anyone would trade 6 and 7 for 2 though…
i think if it did happen there would be a bit more added on E.G

6 and 7 for 2 and your later hawks pick + a player going your way etc

but i am just a nuffy so who knows hahaha

Where is the FOS and Wilson talk coming from?
Me. Media said last night Wilson not happy at Saint and in no rush to extend. North need a tall. Essentially swapping FOS for CDT or even Schubert may work for them.

But we know they'd take Duursma.

Its been mentioned on here multiple times and now suggested by Kane Cornes, but I really hope we are chasing James Worpel and looking at offering him $3.5-$4 over 5 years. Hawks may keep him, Saints, Cats etc have mentioned as potential suitors. 36 years of age, leadership, inside mid. Fits out needs perfectly. We just need to at the very least be asking the question, and putting something in front of him even if he doesn't want to take our call.
Would mean we don’t get compensation for Oscar Allen, as Worpel is a RFA.

Worpel is not worth essentially giving up pick 2 for, he’s an okay player, but no thanks.

Yep, same with FOS. Turning our draft hand into Sharp, FOS, Wilson then trading our 2x2R and 3R with GCS for another high pick would be a tremendous outcome.
I am as big a fan of FOS as you, but how exactly are north letting him go right now?

Look at the number of midfielders they have and the type of players they are. Other than Wardlaw when fit and precontract LDU you could take any of them out and you wouldn’t even notice.

They’ve absolutely cooked their rebuild taking mids/HFFs. They’ve got some developing talls but none are screaming 200 game player. Just look at Jobe.

Who knows what Brady et al have as a strategy, but I’d love to ask the question to give them a chance at a high end tall after they panicked last year, missed Jobe AND took the wrong Whitlock. FOS was very keen to play for WCE if the cards fell that way in his draft.

Why not see if they really rate CDT or Schubert?

Essendon aren't getting pick 7 for Draper coming off an achilles, while also never being a top 10-15 ruck in the comp. Who's offering him silly money? At least Allen has shown he is a very good afl player when fit.

The whole premise of 2 for 6 and 7 then falls away as they aren't trading 5 and 6 for 2 and being left with only the one pick.

Think it would be a more in depth trade maybe 6 7 or 5 and 6 etc for 2 and a second etc but i dont want to start any war on your board or anything like that

I think it would all really depend on what WCE is looking at bringing in terms of attributes and what we are looking to bring in

The trade you’ve suggested has been discussed here previously with Essendon giving their 2xR1 picks for pick 2 and either our R2 pick or the Hawthorn R1 pick we hold

It has merit for both clubs, especially if you’re into either Duursma or CDT in a big way.

Always welcome oppo supporters who come here with sensible ideas

I would absolutely trade a high pick or 2 for FOS and Wilson.
What was the rumours with Wilson not being happy?

Thanks appreciate love talking footy i watch a fair bit of WCE as most of my family are WCE supporters so there is a soft spot

think it would be a win win for both clubs

we get Duursma while also having another pick in the top 10
you guys keep 1 while getting 6 and 7

Dons give 6+7 + player lets just say Tsatas
Eagles give 2 + late hawks pick or your R2

Eagles

1 Sharp
6 Fred R
7 Greeves

Apologises i know you guys want to strengthen your midfield group but apart from Sharp not sure who you are aiming for most people think CDT?

Dons

2. Duursma
5. Lindsey
16. X Taylor

Yep.

We split pick 2 for 8+12 a few years back.

I think a lot comes down to context.

8 became 9, 12 became 14.

1-8: NAB League
9: Ginbey, WAFL
10-12: SANFL, NAB League, QAFL (academy)
13: Busslinger, WAFL
14: Hewett, WAFL

If you believe the chat at the time we thought some players were a flight risk and didn't rate others any higher than Hewett and Ginbey.

Fast forward a year later we rejected 6 + 11 (and I think a future first) for pick 1 because Harley is that good. The less said about last year the better.

If the draft pool is even then 6+7 is probably better than 2. If there are clear top 2 or 3 then it drops off after that then not so much.

Too high for Fred, he'll be a late first/early second and I doubt we go for Greeves.

More like Sharp, Cumming and the like of someone like Barker.

Can see us going in on the SA cohort this year.

Fair call

Cummings is going to be a good player already quite balanced as a prospect
Barker would be a good get to as i think you need some stock for your wingers
Farrow would be a guy i reckon you would be watching

He and Crouch are the ones who make sense. I don’t mind the idea of Steele either but he’s shorter term than Worpel and probably costs as much

Would you prefer pick 2 or Oscar + Worpel both on medium/big contracts?
We don't get Worpel at cost of only salary he also dilutes our free agency compensation
I'll apologise in advance for my ignorance reagrding your response to my post, but why is it one or the other.
Worpel restricted free agent, costs us nothing. Hawks have said they won't hold him back so unlikely to match bid, but even if we do, its not going to be pick 2 for him.I don't understad how he dilutes our free agency comp for Oscar?
