Well we have #1 and had better use it wisely.
Is O.Allen going? Will we get #2 for him? I suggest in the long game #2 is worth more to us than O.Allen - if we use it wisely.
If Harley signs - most excellent. If he doesnt a $24M player must bring in outstanding capital - picks and players.

The future is bright!

1 & 30 for 5+6 ✅

1 & F2nd for 5+6 ✅

1 & 19 for 5+6 ❌
1 & 12 1st for 5+6 ❌

Something about having the first pick of night 2 is really valuable, I don't want to let our 2nd rounder go. Could have a juicy slider sitting right there without the means to get them if we trade it away, or another team might throw a dumb offer at us for it.

That said, we'd also have just used 2, 5, 6, & "12" on night one. Hawks pick is still the pick you can use on a slider I guess 🤔

100%

1 and Hawks 2nd for 5 6

2 5 6 12 and 19 draft nights. 5 early picks and 3 NGA FS is 8 draftees.

Use 2/3rd round future picks on trades.
Windhager, steels, Neale, Moyle, reeves.

Hold the first pic of night 2, some club maybe throws us a stupidly good trade deal for it on the night.
Didn't nth do something like that last yr?

Still he should be completing some media he still is the captain of the club.

Oscar Allen is on the equivalent of gardening leave right now.

No point trotting him out as everyone knows he's gone

I would take FOS for pick 2.

If bombers want 1 for duursma, north might want CDT.

They might actually recognise there list management is unbalanced with all the mids and minimal decent talls.
I haven't watched much of north because I'm not into that sort of thing, but what I've seen and from the stat's, FOS doesn't excite me in anyway. What is it about him in your opinion that makes him worth pick 2?

North traded this year’s first rounder to Richmond for a late pick (about 27) on the first night.

Interesting question......what if we got Marshall, Windy and Wilkie for Reid (with some pics swapped)

Wilkie is from SA, so it's not like leaving Vic is an issue....offer him a good 4 year deal.

Marshall is 30, but still a huge improvement over Flynn and gives as 4 years to draft and develop a ruckman

Windy wants to play fulltime not as a tagger.....I'm sure he would be a great improvement into our mids.

Keep picks 1 and 2, draft Durrsma and CDT (to get Marshall to take under his wing)

Not a bad draft period when you can loose 1/2 best 22 and gain 4???

Certainly interesting in the sense that cancer is interesting.

is devon robertson worth a try? he's still a good player, just cant become a regular player at brisbane
Look, probably.

But dependent on list spots (any trades, top end draftees + NGAs) and interest from other similarly aged mid prospects with higher ceilings (e.g. Erasmus).

If we get additional list or rookie spots as part of an assistance package it might pave a way for him.

What is Liam Ryan worth ? Pick swap 8 for 12 w/ St.Kilda & their compo for losing Wanganeen-Malera ?

On what basis? What does he bring?
Balanced mid, penetrating and accurate kick, big tank, high footy IQ, better than any of the draftees this year and one extra year of development. If North want to swap him for Willem I’d bite their hand off.

Have very little between Duursma and the player likely to end up at 5.

Id do 1 and wce 2nd for 5 and 6 in a heartbeat, would also do 1 and Hawks 1st with dons 2nd coming back.

Then use 19 + 23 to get up to 8 with a guarantee from the two clubs not to bid on GC prospects.

2, 5, 6, 8, try use 32 to get a minor upgrade on a future pick, NGA kids.

If Allen was rolled out for any media appearances the only thing they would ask him about is is he leaving? And they would ask it over and over again. And lets face it, Allen is not that bright, slick or verbally agile. He wouldn't be very good at lying or deflecting and then redirecting the conversation in another direction. Plus it would give the East Coast media an opening for another round of articles bashing us for supposedly mistreating and disrespecting our players. Best to keep Allen out of the media spotlight as much as possible.

Yeah I just look at his stats this year, no contested ball at all, no clearances. This backs up what I've seen of him, he looks short, and I'm just confused as to what he is, or is going to be, as he's not exactly a meters gained player either.

I know he's a rookie, but he's also a pick 2, I just expect more than what he's managed this season, he's had plenty of opportunity.

That’s a fair call on the stats but he’s not playing an inside role. North have started Sheezel, McKercher on the flanks in their debut years, FOS has done that but also seen some wing and midfield time. He’s going to be a ripper if North don’t destroy his development.

Sheezel amd McKercher were mid 20's touches in their first years, FOS is not even close though. He's a level below.

Just don't see his + skill at AFL level. Duursma for example, despite his flaws has clear + AFL level attributes.

Year in, year out and I still don't see the value of holding the first pick on day two (in terms of being able to extract a draft bounty).

Seems like any other pick.

The first 2 years or so of having the draft on two nights there was some value in trading the first pick on night 2 but more recently clubs have held the pick as the offers weren’t compelling enough

Would have something to do with the first pick that used to be around 20 is now more like 30 so much later in the draft meaning clubs aren’t as willing to trade up using anything significant

This year it could be almost mid 30’s

Nah I prefer Allen being totally awol.

Pack your shit, say goodbye to the boys and leave quitely. Best thing for him and best thing for the club 🧳

No need for media.
Watch the footage of when gov delivered his address to the players pregame on the weekend and OA is standing against the wall legs crossed sipping a coffee staring into the abyss. He is awol
