List Spots Available (39 of 48):
• Main list (33 of 38) - 5* (in: Starcevich, Young out: Allen, Ryan, Chesser, Hunt, Petruccelle, Jamieson)

If it's 23 for Starc they better do the right thing by Dev and do whatever we ask them to do.

Do you honestly think Clarke understands why we have to ask that let alone actually ask that? I bet we’ve also assured them we won’t bid on Annable saving them almost 900 points at a minimum. We are going to be reamed all trade period again then make shit draft choices. Bookmark it.

I suspect part of him picking us over the Dogs might’ve been a promise to be on the main list

Completely guessing on that though
Rookie list isn’t like it use to be, you can play every week. I wasn’t sure about contract situation but someone mentioned earlier you can pay them what they want.

What’s the point of of rookie lists

Oliver will net them pick 55 and they will be paying him 1 mill per year on their books while he plays elsewhere

We fumbled some stuff but atleast we are not the Melbourne Demons

Melbourne are at least doing what we should've done three years ago. Sack the coach and start stripping down the list.

I realise this

Pies obviously reckon Blight can play and so do I. Tbh Young is one of a handful of players in the league that I genuinely cannot remember seeing play at all....and maybe that mean he does his job with no fuss.

Just dont want us to overpay for a 27 year old out of contract guy who's played 30 odd games.
I was just looking for Young’s highlights package ,found nothing ..

Honestly wrapped with this. I promise if you watch Brisbane every week, you’ll see why the club is so into Starcevich. Quite possibly the best small/medium forward stopper in the league (and capable of playing defensive mid if required). Yes, concussion history is a worry but as long as games based triggers are there for later years of contracts then I think it’s a risk worth taking.
I like him a lot as a player but that's a separate issue. We hold all the leverage in this situation given Brissy are gaining 2 free agents and would receive nothing if he went anywhere else. There is no reason for us to squander the priority pick on him given we could pick him up with any of our later picks as well and Brisbane can't do anything about it. The way Twomey talks about it as if it's a forgone conclusion suggests to me that he has inside info that the priority pick was given to WC on the proviso that we'd trade it for Starcevich, despite the fact Brisbane would get nothing in any other scenario. If it goes ahead as Twomey seems to think it will then it's essentially a priority pick for the B2B premiers who at the conclusion of this years draft will have picked up 3 pick 1/2s in the last 4 seasons for pennies on the dollar along with a few other handy players as FS/academy.

Apart of me thinks Tunstil might come too and then we do pick 19 for Starcevich/Tunstil/Robertson as the deal

Agree... So dumb

As long as it is a reasonable contract with provisions re concussion retirement, then all good. Good not to dilute OA’s compensation, that’s key.
Yeah, but the price to pay should also take into consideration the risk that we're taking.

Personally, I think Starcevich is a gun. I watch plenty of Brisbane games, I've been following them as my second team since I was ten and they were still the bears. Great at what he does, but repeated head knocks to the head don't care how good you are.

Don’t disagree. A chance it could all go bad, could be 100 games, could be 0…

Keeping positive. Getting a two time premiership player from a successful club who actually wants to be here, well it’s a good start ☺️

Players develop at different rates. Kenh is incredibly talented and athletic. He could develop hugely next year and we're talking a 10-20 player in the draft or he could stay as he is or regress and go undrafted. Whatever way he goes I don't think it matters as he will be drafted as a project. He will almost certainly need 3-4 years in the system before he's ready to win his position week in, week out. So considering draft age we're talking 2029 which would be slightly early or more likely 2030.

Kenh is another one of the reasons why there should be no list cap on players (say you have 50). If these guys take years to develop and you pay the salary floor then it's fine trying to develop that talent over 4-5 years. If you have a list cap of 42 then it potentially means these guys are pushed too hard, too soon and don't make it.

Also who was the dickhead who said Evans had off field issues, it's the first i've heard of it and indigenous football development is what I do. (I'm not saying i'm any good or should be a recruiter but it is what I do)
Also good news on Kenh, he just looks a very exciting transition HB.
Also K Evans having no issues off field is good news, where do you see him playing?

I am watching the Indigenous Academy v Multicultural Academy and Kenh would be in the best players again.
WC NGA players R Farmer, Z Hately, K Lam look to have some good traits.
What is your opinion of their prospects?
