Leaves Gold Coast as follows for points:

But they got other considerations:
1. 10% discount
2. Trading back 15 and 18 for more points
3. Their picks will move up after they cover a bid for pick 1, meaning the picks listed here left will be worth more for pick two.
4. Using their future 2nd's to trade back in if they have to.

It's pretty tight now for them tbh. They are expecting us to take Duursma at 1 I suspect.

Just missing the 10% discount.

Bids at 1 and 2 with the discount applied require 4,933 points to match.

Gold Coast’s current draft hand:

15 – 973 points
18 – 836 points
24 – 621 points
28 – 505 points
29 – 479 points
36 – 317 points
37 – 297 points
52 – 42 points

Total: 4,070
Pick 37 gone as well.

Gold Coast need 4933 points to match a bid on 1+2 (0.9*5481)
They have 3773
They can go into deficit 1167

3773 + 1167 = 4940.

Well played Gold Coast, well played. But their other academy picks like Addinsall are now out of their reach.

(other than overpaying for Trac)

Also, having traded out their F1, they will eat up lower picks for their deficit. But we should make them eat every pick they have to.

Tbh Patrick, finbar and maley are all Irish names.

Retschko idk

Retschko's Roughnecks

Can go into a deficit, think up to 1,100 points? But they’ll also flip their firsts in the teens for more points. They’ll match any Uwland and Patterson bid, Addinsall is the one we might be able to shake loose.
So not only do they get a 10% discount on 2 top 5 picks, they can go into a deficit despite already trading their first rounder next season?

What a system lmfao

If you swap Patrick Retschko and Finnbar Maley's last names around you get a fairly normal sounding person and a word salad: Patrick Malley and Finnbar Retschko.
Definitely a word salad, what I am most interested in is how Geelong can trade a delisted player they delisted a few weeks ago for a pick???

We would be negligent not to bid on GC and Brisbane academy picks at 1. Even if they match all 3. Should at least get some good will from other clubs at a minimum.
Great chance to reverse the "good guy" reputation we have at the trade table.

If I was inclined to take this deal (as Essendon) I would absolutely tell them to EAD on the future third. They aren’t going to bail on a a deal for an A-grade midfielder over that.

I wouldn't do it if I was Essendon. No pick under 10 in that. Might be Merrett for Lindsay and a couple of picks that end up 25-30.

Can they go into deficit into two drafts though?
