Current Draft Picks:
Round 1: 1, 2, 13

Round 3: 53, 58 (These picks are in excess of available list spots so will be forfeited if we don’t consolidate our 2025 picks up the order or trade some for future picks)

List Spots Available (39 of 48):
• Main list (33 of 38) - 5* (in: Starcevich, Young out: Allen, Ryan, Chesser, Hunt, Petruccelle, Jamieson)
• Cat A rookie list (5 of 8) - 3* (in: Robertson (pending), out: Rawlinson)

Dev requesting a trade when he literally has no contract and is about to be delisted is definitely a bold strategy.

Dev's Exit Interview -

Fagan:
"Hi Dev, take a seat. I'm afraid I've got some bad news, your time at the club...

Dev: "I'D LIKE TO BE TRADED TO THE EAGLES"

Keep the ****ing seafood away from his missus this time

Well if Starc is coming via Trade we might aswell just tap Dev onto that trade.

I'd be happy with Starc & Dev for 32. Will likely end up the compo pick though. Good old 2 for 1
32 is also a good pick for Tyler Young. I was watching a Richmond Youtuber and he said fans wanted a pick in the 20's but eagles may offer our 3rd round pick in the 50's. He thinks 20's is too much and 50's is probably not enough. He thought realistically 32 might be the number.

Would absolutely love Oliver to join Geelong if only to exacerbate the cultural rot that Bailey Smith has already started.

King smart going full rebuild now before Tassie with a complete culture reset too.

Not sure what it means for his long term survival as coach but long term for the club it's the right move.
Needed but cutting it fine - relying on a compromised draft this year and next year to get the foundations right.

  • Gawn 33
  • Viney 31
  • Melksham 34
  • Tmac 33
  • Salem 30

  • May 33, gone
  • Oliver 28, gone
  • Petraca 29, likely gone
  • McVee 22, gone

Tough times ahead

Tyler Young is a 27 year old on 35 games.

Our 50's pick is spot on here.

Interesting...

I expect they're into Grlj and think they can get him lower than 4. With Gold Coast, St Kilda and Carlton selling picks, it makes sense from the Tigers' perspective.

32 is way overs for Young. Out of contract, 27 years old, played 35 games and coming off a serious knee injury.

But given the Richmond connections I feel another overpay coming

If anything this is a positive for Brisbane. We might give up a nominal pick for him rather than them delisting him and getting nothing whatsoever.
More likely Brisbane encouraged it.

He was also a rookie draft selection, there is no premium being attached because of where he may have been taken in the main draft.

Fair enough. Both picks 32 and 50's pick will blow out massively though, so that may be a sticking point when offering the 50's. But I hope you are correct.

Agree completely but I'd suggest the Dogs "interest" may mean we likely have offered a main list spot to get him over the line

Should still be free or a throwaway pick at worst

We can offer him the same contract term and value whether he’s on the rookie list or main list - there’s literally no difference to how he gets paid or chances of playing senior footy

For us, getting him in as a rookie gives us more flexibility in respect to the draft and/or other trades

Depending on what we'd have to give up to get him, I'd grab him in stick him next to Harley in a heartbeat. Especially if Melbourne are looking to foot over half his pay.

My dumb ass would be tempted in offloading our Hawks pick which'll end up being in like early 20's to get him.
Oliver will be fyfe levels of cooked in a couple of years .

Has been smashed from pillar to post since his first season .

On 1.4 million x 5 years and Melbourne are willing to pay 1/2 tells you all you need to know about his value

What is the role change? He doesn't strike me as a guy who has a whole lot of utility if he's not playing inside mid. Certainly not someone who's going to be worth anything close to his contract value if you're trying to stick him at half forward or on the wing.
The role change for Oliver is **** off out of our club campaigner
