Redden was a gun from day 1 at Brisbane and was never not offered a contract that's for sure Dev is not redden

But their was another 2018 premiership player who was delisted that is much more equivalent and i think would be a better comparison

I'm not comparing, nor commenting on how Dev plays. I'm just saying what his ceiling might be. We all know what the floor is.

Article the other day made me realise that the compo pick we got for Lynchy going to Collingwood (Pick 60) was used to draft (the good) Hutch.

Who then played in instrumental role in beating Collingwood in 2018 😍

Its like when we traded pick 3 for Baker. Unimitigated chaos, melting, and page after page of bet-wetting posts, of which I was proudly a contributer.

Team Yellow won that over Team Dry Sheets, and that was after I tried to rig the results by giving a point to Team Dry Sheets when Woosha came home 😩

This is why I'm starting to think Keys may not be the insane tinfoil hat wearer lizard thread poster that I thought he was with his theory

I go by Key$ now

Stupid theories aside, there is one question I want people to consider

Why is it that the only journalist who had virtually the exact details of the assistance package at least a week before it was decided/announced, also linked the priority pick he was saying West Coast would get as being traded to Brisbane for Starcevich - who as far as we knew had yet to make a decision on his future.

Twomey can either see the future or he was told what was happening, including an agreed trade price for Starcevich. Our goal was to get Starcevich to the club without diluting our FA compensation which appears to be happening.

Brisbane being the prime beneficiary of the process ultimately settled on is entirely coincidental and nothing to do with their former CEO being in charge of that process

We simply have to bid on Annable with pick 1 so pick 19 evaporates and Brisbane don't get a first round pick for a guy they should be getting nothing for.

Twomey is obviously the spokesman from AFL house. I think you’re spot on.

I noticed a distinct softening of Swann's tone regarding the announcement of our assistance package compared to his hard-nosed stance in his first interview as footy operations boss. Coincidince? Maybe not, with the points you mention.

Once we lose that pick we lose control over it's outcome. It may not even be there to be absorbed by an early draft bid

Who's to say that Brisbane doesn't package it up for something better for them?..

100% wouldn't be surprised by your theory and expect nothing less from the vAFL.
I am just waiting to see what else comes with pick 19 if that's the deal, Dev, future picks back, which would be the right value for Starcevich and Dev, a F2 or 3rd back.

With Baker, Graham, Owies, Starcevich & Young, I hope we're closer to getting over our fixation with getting in older players to increase our age profile, and instead letting it develop naturally with players that will be around longer.
Younger players don't develop naturally without older players around them, especially losing by 100 every week.

The reverse logic, is that had we not chased starcevich we likely wouldn't have been given the PP as part of the package. Although, the AFL has left the door ajar by not forcing us to trade it, so if we have any balls we will use it appropriately, despite private conversations.

I know it's unrelated to us...

But can anyone explain why Petracca would go to the Suns? They have a terrific midfield already, and aren't really lacking in that space. I know Petracca can be handy in the forward line too. But he's predominantly an inside mid.

Or to put it into context that might be relevant to us... does this shake things up at Gold Coast at all? ie, are there any fringe midfielders that drop down the pecking order?

Wouldn’t mind Swans (or any club) missing Curnow and having a late band 1 go at Oscar.

Tom Berry?

If stand-alone FA compensation for Starcevich is estimated to be pick #19, then his fair trade value should be 50% of the pick value of pick #19 (which is pick#33). The other 50% should be paid by Brisbane. (As Brisbane receives no FA compensation because of O Allen)
