Quick Links

List Changes - 2025
In:
  • Brandon Starcevich arrives at West Coast in a three team deal
  • Tylar Young (Richmond) arrived at West Coast in exchange for Pick 38.
  • Deven Robertson (Brisbane) has agreed to join West Coast and will be signed on to the rookie list after being delisted by Brisbane
Out:
  • Oscar Allen joins Brisbane as a FA - West Coast receive Pick 2 as compensation
  • Liam Ryan and a 2027 R3 pick has been traded to St Kilda for a 2026 R2 pick
  • Campbell Chesser has been traded to Carlton for Pick 41

2025 Draft Order

Current Draft Picks:
Round 1: 1, 2, 13
Round 2: 34, 41
Round 3: 53, 58 (These picks are in excess of available list spots so will be forfeited if we don’t consolidate our 2025 picks up the order or trade some for future picks)

List Spots Available (39 of 48):
• Main list (33 of 38) - 5* (in: Starcevich, Young out: Allen, Ryan, Chesser, Hunt, Petruccelle, Jamieson)
• Cat A rookie list (5 of 8) - 3* (in: Robertson (pending), out: Rawlinson)
• Cat B rookie list (1 of 2) - 2 (out: Livingstone)

* Based on Dewar being upgraded after the maximum 3 years on the rookie list. Hutchinson may also have been upgraded but this isn’t confirmed - if it is we will have 4 main and 4 rookie list spots open

* Matthew Clarke has stated we have 5 main list spots

Matt Clarke wraps up the trade period - 6PR

Delisting Cripps and putting him in the rookie draft would be an insult to a champion of the club who is still in our best 23.
Show some respect .!!!! Champion and Newton are probably 3 seasons away from being ready.
I would even consider extending Cripps's contract for another year which would allow him to reach 300 games.
Do you really think that if you explained the list requirements to Cripps right now, he wouldn't be "right, let's get it done"?

I don’t think Dursma and CDT are the best fits for WCE. Would WCE consider 1+2 for Dons 5+6+2026 F1. Would say get them SA boys (Sharp + Cummings - better list fit) + a second top 10 pick in 2026 draft.
No thanks. Just take Duursma and CDT. Try and trade up with our other picks or use pick 13 on a slider like Greeves.
Someone will slide and be available at 13

We need to move at least one player from the senior list to the rookie list, possibly two.

Unfortunately, the only way to do this is to delist the player then redraft in the rookie draft. There’s an inherent risk with this as another club can then sign the player as a DFA (like North did with Greenwood) or draft him in the RD (like the Suns did with Knobel)

Cripps then looms as the most logical option because it’s unlikely another club is going to pursue a 33 year old small/medium forward who’s probably only got one year left in him. And is unlikely to want to move

It’s not an insult as he still gets paid the same and there’s no practical difference between the lists

That said, and this is purely a guess, it won’t surprise me in the slightest if he decides to retire. Another year playing in a bottom four team who’ll lose more than they win with the prospect of spending some time in the WAFL. Almost all of his premiership teammates have gone and over half the playing list are ten years younger than him

Barnett and Johnston are the other two we could consider but that would leave us vulnerable to having a club poach them as a DFA - having pick 1 in the RD prevents a team picking a player before us

Who knows what the club will actually do though

What is the deadlines for these type of moves?

Pretty sure we can do it after trade period is finished and before final list lodgements prior to the draft.

The risk is another club swooping on them in the main draft is my understanding.

Or you just say this it’s what we are doing and if you don’t like it heres your cheque and you don’t play anywhere on our list

GTFOOH with that nonsense.

Is this stat readily available? Who is the 2nd most tackled player in the AFL?
He was caught holding the ball more than any afl player in one year in particular it was well known . On a podcast McGinnity was heckling him in jovial banter . Masten was fittingly caught in a tackle as the siren sounded on his career in the 2018 GF when other eagles players were hugging in particular Lecras superman flying hug on Kennedy Masten was still embraced by a Collingwood player .

Can we not select them via SSP?

Removes the RD poach risk, but still a DFA issue. That said we have 4-5 players who if poached wouldn’t really be a concern

This does not really prove what that poster claimed. Masten could very well be the most tackled player in AFL history but due to lack of statistics we can’t really say that he is.

Also, what does the bolded part mean?

SSP doesn’t open until after the draft

And whilst many/most here would have players they’d happily see poached or delisted I don’t think the club shares that view

Yes Fremantle are the best people to get list advice from given the amount of premierships you have.

Cheers for the advice.

I don’t think you can re-sign your own delisted player as an SSP, unless they’ve gotten through the drafts (like Carlton with Carroll last year).

Otherwise everyone would just do that. E.g. Freo wouldn’t have lost Knobel last year.
