Am I the only one that thinks Petracca is worth pick 7 and 8? Maybe not the F1 too even if you get a couple of high-ish picks back, but the deal is still being settled and ironed out.

Immediately puts Gold Coast in the flag window, that's how much he moves the needle. Disregard the age of Petracca, you want a flag in the next three years with GC's current group and Petracca is the answer. He's far better than Merrett too imo.

100%

It depends if Melbourne are paying any of his salary.

For GC yeah it's probably worth it. I'm not sure for a more established and successful club it would be.

I'd do it too if we were in Gold Coast's position.

You aren't losing more games than you win if you have Rowell, Anderson and Petracca as your front line midfielders. If it costs them depth like Fiorini, it's worth it. All out for the flag, don't hedge your bets, snag one before Tasmania dilutes the talent pool even more.

Edit - I saw that JUH has just been confirmed for GC too. Risky but if it comes off they are laughing.

Their dream is JUH sorts himself out and they can get him on a reasonable contract and let King walk.

Meh. North told him to look around. You’re not getting the best offers for someone who is an ordinary player in that situation
I think it was more "we're willing to listen to offers on this guy if anybody wants to give us a heavy return" than "we want this guy gone and we'll take peanuts to get him out the door."

Different players but Patterson would fit Minis system to a tee.

Fast, takes the game on, good kick and seems to have a bit of x-factor about him.
low possession and outside. So yeah, you're probably right but imo not a great need for us.

We have quite a few running half backs now in McCarthy, Ginbey, Duursma (maybe), Baker if we leave him in the backline.
I like him and wouldn't be upset if we got him, but don't actually think he is pick 2 worthy.

2 outside transition players?
Where is Patterson playing long term?
If he is a balanced mid with that pace and skill he would be worth it, otherwise I would sell Duursma to the highest bidder and get Sharp and Cumming with Patterson.
They might be outside transition players now, but i dont think that'll be the case in 3+ years time.

Both are huge needs for our list, arguably moreso than Sharp who many here want

I dont see McCarthy or Baker being defenders in 2026.
Duursma could play off a wing too. Allan potentially wing/midfield.

Running half back is a list need still

That Carlton trade is awful

Pick 10 and 22 for 9 and 42

Seems like somethings missing

Yeah, but you don't rate midfielders. I've had this argument with you before, we're you named all these fringe players as mids for us. It was Hutch last year.
HBF is our least needed position for a high draft pick IMO
