If CDT really is 204 now (and possibly still growing) that really does change things.

We also have to remember that the clubs have all the combine info, whereas we just have the top tens. If, as someone said higher up, his jumps were just outside the top ten he's definitely more appealing, which is a good thing no matter what way we go. Either we draft a more appealing prospect, or there's more drive for say essendon to get silly and offer 5+6. Can't lose.
I would suspect the top ruckmen will be getting towards 210

Can't believe CDT kicked 204 points a game in the champs. Worse than Liam Ryan.

CDT doesn’t need to be the next gawn. He just needs to be able to break even in the ruck to justify his standing. His one wood will be to destroy his opponents around the ground with his athleticism, maybe getting forward off the chain and kicking a goal or two where he can. The hope is he would be a TDK/English type accumulating ruckman.

Asked at last month’s draft combine which player he’d take if he had Pick 1, Jevan Phillipou told foxfooty.com.au: “I’d pick myself. That’s not arrogance, that’s just confidence in my abilities.

“I would take myself, just because of my all-round athleticism and my dual-sided kicking. I’ve got really good skills and I’ve got smarts as well … I feel like I can be utilised straight away. I’m very versatile.”

Old mate drank his own bath water.

We will pick CDT need to get over it guys.

He's worth getting he is not just athletic and a impressive size 😉.

He also has a good footy brain and reads the play well

Old mate drank his own bath water.

Copied his brothers home work and our lad Hewetts.

Woodville-West Torrens midfielder Mattaes Phillipou added: “Cadman I just think is full of potential and from what I‘ve heard and from what I’ve seen, he looks like he’s going to tap into that. He looks competitive and I would assume that he’s got a good support base based off the year he’s had. I think he could really take his career and have a really good one.”

But Cadman wasn’t Phillipou’s nomination for the No. 1 pick.

In perhaps a sign the self-belief and confidence of overseas athletes is beginning to influence Australia’s emerging footballers, Phillipou was one of several prospects spoken to by foxfooty.com.au that indicated he’d take himself with the first selection.

“I think I‘d have to say myself, just because I think if you’re not going to back yourself, you probably don’t have the confidence required to play in the league,” he said.

“Whether I think I’m the best right now, I would probably say yes as well. But look at the end of the day, it‘s what clubs need and I might not be the best fit for a club. But if I had Pick 1, I’d definitely be taking myself.”

Swan Districts midfielder Elijah Hewett declared: “I’d probably take myself, just because I know what I‘m capable of and what I’m willing to bring to a club. But it’s all subjective.

“That confidence that a lot of players have, it‘s almost something that probably separates me from all the players that self-belief, but I know a lot of other players probably think the same. I guess the pick as you come to mature a bit is really irrelevant. Come December for the pre-season, everyone’s back to square one and it’s about trying to play Round 1.

If we do somehow get the 5 and 6 for pick 2 and 13 trade, I hope one of those picks is Shcubert. I know our midfield is lacking, but I think we are not yet set up for talls and they take longer to develop. Duursma, one of Sharp or Cumming and Schubert is the ideal for mine.

But when all the ruckment are gawns!

With Clarke saying we would’ve liked one more mature mid in the trade period and not Tom Mitchell delisted it will be interesting to see if we have a look. Someone mentioned him and his partner are expecting a baby so might not be keen for a move west though

Cooked.

If CDT (and that's IF) is 204cm, we absolutely have to take him in my opinion. That height/athleticism combo is just far too much for us to pass up on. Having said that, I would be doing absolutely everything we could to move our third pick into the top 10 and taking one of Sharp or Cumming. If it costs a F2, so be it.

I would much rather Duursma, CDT & Cumming than Duursma, Sharp & whoever we can land just outside the top 10. If we somehow managed to land Duursma, CDT & Sharp then i'm going to party into the morning after the draft.

Would the National Draft Combine measured the height and weight of the participants ? Can those be made available together with their test results?

Duursma, Sharp, Schubert and our FS/NGA would be a great draft

The Great Ah Chee Cover-Up... Conspiracy Theory Time

Rumour has it that during the early days of the trade period, West Coast list boss Matt Clarke and Brisbane’s ever-calculating Dom Ambrogio met behind closed doors, or perhaps over a “totally innocent” flat white to hatch a secret plan.

The alleged plot? Keep Cal Ah Chee out of Adelaide’s hands at all costs. Strengthening a South Australian rival was simply not on the agenda.

In exchange for a gentleman’s handshake, West Coast quietly agreed not to bid on Dan Annable, and in return, the Ah Chee deal would mysteriously “fall through” just before the deadline.

Coincidentally, that’s exactly what happened — Ah Chee now finds himself sliding toward the Pre-Season Draft, where… who just happens to have pick one?

Clarke, of course, is vehemently denying any interest, telling reporters he “doesn't fit our list profile”, however insiders will later "leak" that Don Pyke himself has demanded that the Eagles come circling back with an offer too good to refuse.

Some say it’s a morally flexible masterstroke...others say it’s downright corrupt. Either way, if Ah Chee ends up in blue and gold, don’t be surprised if a few coffee tabs between Perth and Brisbane mysteriously go unpaid.
