  • Tylar Young (Richmond) arrived at West Coast in exchange for Pick 38.
  • Deven Robertson (Brisbane) has agreed to join West Coast and will be signed on to the rookie list after being delisted by Brisbane

2025 Draft Order

Current Draft Picks:
Round 1: 1, 2, 13
Round 2: 34, 41
Round 3: 53, 58 (These picks are in excess of available list spots so will be forfeited if we don’t consolidate our 2025 picks up the order or trade some for future picks)

List Spots Available (39 of 48):
• Main list (33 of 38) - 5* (in: Starcevich, Young out: Allen, Ryan, Chesser, Hunt, Petruccelle, Jamieson)
• Cat A rookie list (5 of 8) - 3* (in: Robertson (pending), out: Rawlinson)
• Cat B rookie list (1 of 2) - 2 (out: Livingstone)

* Based on Dewar being upgraded after the maximum 3 years on the rookie list. Hutchinson may also have been upgraded but this isn’t confirmed - if it is we will have 4 main and 4 rookie list spots open

* Matthew Clarke has stated we have 5 main list spots

Matt Clarke wraps up the trade period - 6PR

Threaten to bash them if they don't.
Trade 'em pick 1. If they do the swap, we can get our dream draft of CDT, Farrow and Lindsay.

We can finally get the ruck-forward we've been so desperate for,as well as 2 elite users off half back

Cant see a single poster on here being disappointed with that haul :sunglasses:

I'm beginning to think there won't be any contract announcements today.

Interesting

If almost all our academy prospects were guaranteed top 5 talents like what Brisbane and Gold Coast get, then I'm sure our messaging would be a little different.
I wonder at what point would we not match a bid on Tylah Williams for example? Pick 15, pick 20?

Since we only have 5 spots, can't see us not matching him unless it's at our 3rd pick.

Cal seems to think he will be bid on with a late first but i cant see that happening and if it does id let him walk.

He could also tank his interview i guess to put clubs off? Freo might go him but i think they interested in Leon Pickett ?

A late 1st is a pick around 25-30. With discount we can match up to somewhere in the low 20s I think with 34 and 41.

He'll be better than anyone still around at those picks, can't see why we'd let him go

Will he? I think there'll be some bargains around then.
It'll be interesting to see how early Williams is bid on and if we match

Agree, we have the picks to match and if another club bids in that range then that is a good thing that his talent is around there.
The higher our bids for NGA prospects the higher the quality of draftee.
I wish for the time when we have NGA/FS prospects in the 1st round, good problem to have, you just take the best and leave the others on the vine.

We should be analysing the players that remain at the time of the bid - if there's enough players that we rate better than Williams remaining we should absolutely pass and pick one of the players we rate higher at 34.

Depending on when the bid comes we won't know what's available at our pick. If it comes at say 25 we can either take Williams or hope whoever we supposedly rate better lasts another 9 picks

Edit: re reading understand better what you've said and agree

Think its highly unlikely there will be enough left we rate higher to guarantee we get one, but if so then sure

Must not have been clear enough - I mean if there is a bid at 25 and there remains 10 players we rate ahead of Williams then we should pass and pick one of the 10 that falls to our pick at 34.

We'll have a draft ranking list so we can easily just tick of the players as they picked and do the analysis when the bid comes for Williams.

Just edited my post above. My comprehension fail, you worded it clearly
