That should have been band 1

Agreed.

Would be pretty dirty if I were the Crows. Clearly HQ didn't want them to have picks 1 & 2.

It's hard to believe that a multi-billion dollar entity is also never held to account for operating in such a shameless and unprofessional manner either.

I wouldn't put langdon in the middle. We lacked forward pressure this season. Really need someone there creating a scrap when it hits the deck.

If JJ and Langdon are down there creating headaches for the big guys who can't bend over it'll go a long way. Let's ryan push higher up the ground and become that link.

I don't know where cameron fits at the moment. He needs to lift.

Getting over his OP is the issue. It's a complete kent of a problem to have.

100% agree. Forward half turnovers we were 18th for 2020 that's where he'll be required.

Having JJ and Langdon nipping at your toes as a defender would be quite scary tbh, both can apply some serious pressure when up and about.

Cameron as well, for a bloke that weighed about 65kg wringing wet his tackling pressure in 2019 was elite.

Thoughts on this deal?

WCE trade Hickey and a future third to Sydney for a future second.

WCE trade our future second (not Sydney’s) to Brisbane for Witherden.

Means we get Witherden and a likely upgrade in the 2021 second round for Hickey and a future third.

Sydney get Hickey for a likely downgrade next year from the 20s to the 40s or 50s.

Brisbane get a likely pick in the 30s for Witherden.

They will want more

Our intent and attitude is our biggest issue, we are not hungry for success and we are not willing to put it all on the line as a collective to get success. We can add player after player but until the group focus is win at all cost on a weekly basis and a complete buy in to that concept nothing will change.
Completely agree. There's no coincidence on why Nic Nat, Gaff and Sheppard polled top 3 in the John Worsfold medal.

Unfortunately the difference between us and Richmond is that Richmond are hungry to win multiple flags whereas our mindset excluding Nic Nat, Gaff and Shep is "We've won a flag once, we don't need to do it again as we've been there done that." Definitely not helped that we had no Yeo for the back end of the season and our small forwards except Ryan and Cripps are badly out of form.

Bugger all home games at the MCG and Kardinya Park but Geelong and Richmond still rose to the top. They are clearly the best 2 teams in the comp and have an extra gear that most other sides don't have. You're kidding yourself if you think that adding fringe players to our list will help us get back onto that level.
Richmond and Geelong haven't beaten us in Perth for a while.

And we haven't beaten them away from Perth for a while.

They aren't clearly the best 2 teams - obviously Richmond's premierships show they have been the best teamof the last 4-5 years, but they aren't miles ahead. Richmond won a prelim by 6 points. The gap between teams is not that much. Richmond have consistently been at a higher level, but even at their peak performance they aren't unbeatable (Geelong, Collingwood, Port, Brisbane all the same).

Got to love this time of the yea.

Remember Trade Period 2018?

When this man said goodbye to the ABC

Heads up the Dockers Trading Team

Goes hard (literally) for this man

Giving Up the equivalent of pick 3

And then claims a Feather in his Hat

I wonder how he will respond to getting pick

And that my fellow winged posters is why I am pessimistic on our chances of Jordan Clark becoming an Eagle.

+ we’re a contender.

Geelong don’t trade easily with ‘contenders’ unless it’s in their favour.

Back on topic - still feel we need more depth in midfield. Not getting overly excited by Withers & Langdon.

Freo trading their entire midfield talent for Logan Mcdonal would be the most Freo thing ever

Especially if he struggled up forward for two years due to lack of supply before they eventually give up and turn him into a CHB.

That’d be absolute peak Freo.

Update on Brander, which is that there’s no real Brander story.
Unfortunately for brander is there is a Log jam in defence also .
Edwards has shown more as a key defender than brander . Brander does have that pace to go on the lead with anybody but edward body work 1 on 1 is better .

Rotham has also shown he is valuable as a third tall with his rebound and kicking abilities.

I'm glad brander is up for the fight . The 3 of them will be in hot competition over the summer which is very good for all their development

"Developing"?

He was on our list for 3 years which was probably 3 years to long.
Looked so far off it, it wasn't funny.

It certainly looks like we got the 'lesser brother' again. In this case the lesser than the lesser brother.

We seem to make a bit of a habit of it when it comes to family selections...

Ah Chee the lesser,
Selwood the lesser, followed by,
Selwood the even lesser,
Cameron the lessor,
Cripps the lessor (cousin in this case).

Thats when teams get better when there is genuine competition on the training track for spots come game day.

Conversely that was what was missing in "Team 2020" players got to get picked regardless of their last game because the depth just wasn't there to create the pressure to keep your spot.

IMO its also a good sign that Brander wants to stay and is up for the fight, kudos to him for that.

Hamish went undrafted the first time he was eligible before we picked him in the 60s as an overager. Both his brothers were taken in the top three.

So it’s probably not a surprise.
