No leadership out there whatsoever. Both games looked like a disorganised mess. Its so obvious now with the runners not being able to deliver messages as often. Losing Goddard has left a massive hole in terms of on field leadership imo. It's clearly evident that they miss his voice out there.

Would rather watch the replacements play when the team was banned. At least they had heart.

Such a shit club

Worsfold said paying punters had the right to boo but they should know it wasn't helpful.
"I hope our supporters understand our players are disappointed. They don't need to be booed to feel disappointed," he said.
"But that's everyone's right. So we'll cop that."

That reminds me of a story I heard Simon Madden tell at a work conference about Essendon fans at Windy Hill games in the 1970s would go home at quarter time if the side was playing badly.

Unlucky today lads... effort was there in the second half but skill errors let you down at times... I should know being a Saints fan, I’m used to it!

You’ll definitely bounce back sooner than later, Francis and Hurley are guns that you are lucky to have, same with McGrath and Shiel.

Might need to drop Zaharakis though... I dunno he sort of looked disinterested?

Nah your boys kept Essendon in it, they should have won that by 10 goals, nice start for the Saints with two wins from two matches.

Something is amiss with Tippa and Fanta. Coaches have stuffed up our forward line and our ability to have a target coming out of defence by getting Stewart to beef up 18 months ago. Keep him out of the gym ffs and get him running 10km every day for a month.

Merrett was pretty shit so was Heppell. Zaka was terrible, like really bad. McKernan can take a grab, but we need a CHF working up the ground and McKernan to stay home.

I love Adam Saad. What a third-quarter!!

Saints set up well across the ground in the first half. When someone stood the mark they had two guys at a diagonal 5m either side of them. It meant that we couldn't run and carry from a free kick or mark. We were lost when that happened. When we set up there was always a hole over the top of the man on the mark. Geary was huge for them.

Third quarter we had a very different structure and the players were given more freedom to hunt the opposition and ball, as well as take the game on with the ball in hand. Chalk and cheese.

We need to make huge changes this week. Brown, Guelfi and Baguely are spuds. Myers and Langford are mediocre. Zaka is playing like a spud. They all need to be dropped this week.

Having said all that, Lance Uppercut is 100% correct. It is only a game so let's not get too carried away. I suggest ya'll have a big cup of meh.

“ given the freedom to hunt the opposition and ball”!

Hang on..isn’t that a foundation of a good side in form..you know, stuff like tackling and winning ground balls and things like that.

We have no system. No one knows their role on the ground.

Take the game on?

You gotta have the ball in your hands first.

Cheers mate.. we should have capitalised on our early dominance but that’s just us.. can’t finish our good work.

Don’t worry though, I’m sure the Demons will play you into form, I’ll be tipping ya [emoji1303]

Appreciate the words but we are ****ing awful. Losing to a re building saints was one thing we couldn’t afford.

Yet again off to a complete disaster of a year.

You have the core squad to build around, you just need the right coaching panel to do it IMO. Not playing the kids enough, Ridley should never have been dropped. Baguley and Zakka should be replaced.

When you regain Hooker and Daniher then both ends of the ground will look much better, trust me. Although in saying that, you need more KPF if you have to rely on Daniher.

Yeah, we should have played Laverde over Bags this week, but we wanted to play Lav in substandard conditions and increase his chances of getting his annual long-term injury.

Mission accomplished.

It's all about skills and connection - 106 inside 50 entries = 14 goals - A poor skill level has serious ramifications for performance - No matter how much effort and organisation players give each week.

Essendon was trying to set up the ground behind the ball. We did it last year for 8 weeks and looked like shit. Got rid of it for the next 14 and looked excellent.

Love Francis too but he was God awful that first half, not that he didn't have plenty of mates

Nah - Francis was god-awful last week, but was excellent this week.

Eh? You act as though she has no agency.

What if they stay together longer than she did with Bill?

Just typical rubbish. Don't judge other people's personal lives, you have no idea what the **** has gone on
Didn't mention her in general. You brought her in mate.

That is the point mate. You talk about it like Garry stole Billy wallet. She is a grown-up who can make her own choices. People fall in love with all sorts of people at all sorts of times. Sure it would have hurt Billy, but it isn't like they set out to hurt him. He'll get over it eventually.

Hurley, Stringer and Saad were good for the match. Heppell, Shiel, Merrett, McGrath, Francis and Smith improved greatly during the match.

Sad that I named nine players and four were just brought in the last couple of years.

9-1 was a shit start to the season
It was 8-1, and the less said about the rest of that season the better, which underlines the absurdity of cherry picking parts of seasons, but yes.

For about 10 minutes in the 3rd we looked acceptably interested out in the middle, with players showing some desperation for the ball, hunting in packs, relentless pressure: you know, AFL-standard sort of stuff. Unfortunately we still couldn't buy a mark or goal inside 50, so the 10 minutes tapered out into not all that much.

Mind you, that we showed we can do it for 10 minutes, and yet delivered that other garbage for the rest of the game, is even more infuriating. I hope Woosha has the humility to admit that whatever tinkering gameplan stuff they've been doing in the pre-season, it clearly isn't working. I couldn't care less who is dropped next week, as long as the selection committee is convinced that they've picked 22 blokes who will bring reckless desperation and passion for four-quarters and that'll do me.
