Test results came back this morning and ALL Essendon players and staff (except McKenna) have tested NEGATIVE to Covid-19. Connor McKenna's retest results will be known this afternoon.

Not sure if that means all he Don's players (bar McKenna) can play the next game or if some of them (who had trained with McKenna) still need to sit out the 14 day quarantine.

Edit- as reported in the general covid-19 thread. Only one other player (James Stewart) will be required to self isolate for 14 days. Stewart was Connor McKenna's wrestling partner, and the only player demonstrated to have been in close contact with McKenna last week.

Pretty good outcome all things considered.

If McGowan lets in non Vic teams without isolation might be two or three rounds where its non Vic v non Vic and Vic v Vic games

Potential games in WA
Rd 6 WCE v Freo
Rd 7 WCE v Syd and Freo v GWS
Rd 8 WCE v GWS and Freo v Syd

Other games that could be games in WA hub if all non Vic teams sent there and assuming NSW Qld derbies not played in WA
Syd v Bris and GWS v GC
Syd v GC and GWS v Bris
Syd v Port and GWS v Adel
GWS v Port
Adel v WCE

These are who the non Vic clubs will have played after 5 rounds

Marshall has said in his presser that AO could have upto 50% capacity from Monday.

The government has removed 1 person / 4m2 to 1 person / 2m2, but venues have will be restricted to 50% capacity as a max. He started talking about pubs clubs etc adhering to these 2 rules. Said SANFL games this weekend will have max capacity at ony one time of 5,000 for both days.

Then asked about AFL and said that after Monday SMA have to prove to Heath Department what plans they have in place - ie their Covid Management Plan and if ticked off they will be allowed to go upto 50% capacity if they get approval from Health Department. So potentially from Rd 5 onward could have 27,000 people at AO - probably 25,000 as they wont want too many people standing on the hill. Do Adelaide ask for their Rd 5 "home game" against Freo to be transferred from Carrara to AO?

Social distancing measures at pubs and other venues will be reduced in South Australia from next Monday, allowing some to fill to up to 50 per cent capacity, the SA Government says. The Government today announced that, from Monday, June 29, social distancing will be reduced to one person per two square metres, down from the current restriction of one person per four square metres. SA Premier Steven Marshall said it would help increase the number of patrons at venues, allowing businesses to employ more staff.

Malburn sucks. Most of Victoria doesn't have a problem.

That state is so tiny it's under an umbrella of infection. Who can tell the difference between Malbun and non-Malbun? Keep them all at a distance.

There are a few in Ballarat I trust ;)

Its actually a big issue for NSW/Vic border along the Murray as there are so many border towns where people cross back and forth each day. This graph from the 4th slide in link below shows there is only 1 active case in those Vic/NSW border towns and Shire of Campaspe includes Echuca.

No SA border regions have any active cases. There's been plenty of back and forth between people living close to Vic/SA border.

Which basically mirrors what McGowan is saying in WA and the cynic in me detects a little political 'oneupmanship' in the timing of this announcement.

As Marshall is on record as saying no AFL hub in SA a game in front of a 25,000 crowd at AO will depend on teams flying into SA from the States where hubs are established.

So Collingwood and North play against others on a Thursday and Friday, fly to Perth on Saturday, the next Saturday they play against each in Perth ( supposedly McGowan will allow this) and then next Sunday one plays the Eagles and the other Freo. Then the next weekend Collingwood and North fly into Adelaide and play Port and the crows on a Saturday night and Sunday. That gets a few more games ticked off.

Justin Langer, putting the notion of footy clubs having to spend time in a hub into perspective...

Didn't another cricket player 2 months ago say the exact same thing? They would spend up to 6 months away and the vics couldn't do 6 weeks.

Correct and I remember posting photos and articles about the Australian cricketers on the last tour of England complete with photographs of WAGS on tour. Langer is strange person at times and he likes to stir the pot.
