He's overwhelmingly liked in Victoria and has led the polls easily all the way through the last 18 months.

Lol Matthew guy? The same idiot that was smashed last election by Andrews? The Vic libs are absolutely no chance here, imagine having talent that shallow you have to turn back to him? Now that we'll have no restrictions at all in a few weeks and into next year, non engaged voters won't be voting liberal here. Independents will gain further votes on the fringes as plenty do hate Dan but labor will still win in a landslide whether it's Merlano or Dan leading ..

I don't really care for Burt , he did a lot of good things though.

If you had anyone remotely famous at all from Adelaide you'd hold a state funeral.
Now I personally don’t agree with your Adelaide views. It really is a fantastic place to live. Everything is so accessible: Beautiful beaches, CBD, wine regions, the Adelaide oval precinct ( much better than MCG) etc. etc.
Of course it is a small State so doesn’t have the wow factor factor of Sydney or Melbourne but to live in, it’s great.
We have friends who have moved here from Sydney and much prefer this lifestyle too.

As for Melbournians and Dan, I tend to agree with you.
I have quite a few few close and extended family members living there and they literally love Dan.

How anyone can admire Perrottet is beyond me.

He'll lose his seat here.
Victorians have gone completely off the coalition. They barely get a handful of votes here anyway but even less so this time around. It all comes down to how much of a hit they've taken in NSW.

Federally in the latest polling 13% of voters said they would vote for an independent. No doubt Sco Mo and the Coalition stink but the ALP has shot itself in the foot with a luck lustre leader. Albanese is another Simon Crean or Kim Beasley. I suspect whoever wins Government will have to deal with a host of cross benchers.

I reckon people in NSW and in Victoria are sick of lockdowns and a lot will depend upon how smooth the transition to living with COVID is. As Israel has demonstrated living with COVID does not mean pre 2019 society. There will still be restrictions and the lead up to the next Federal election and the State election here in SA will be interesting. If we are still wearing masks, using QR codes and have vaccine passports as well as mandated booster shots in essential services, all of which is which is likely, then I think the personal libertarians will react at the Federal and State ballot boxes.

The NSW numbers are pretty impressive. Given it's been a couple of weeks now since "freedom day" yet cases are still steady or going down. High vax rates working a treat.

It also helps when you stop counting.

Covers the overseas travel situation fairly well.
Insurance being the big issue and how you are looking if Australia or your home state were to close borders to wherever you want to visit.

"You also need to factor in the risk of getting Covid-19 while travelling overseas and the costs involved of extending your stay in a hotel or managed facility, or, in the worst case, an ICU in a foreign hospital, until you can get a negative test and return to Australia.

And it is always possible that another international outbreak will occur while you are overseas and Australia will close its borders again. You will need enough resilience and a significant budget set aside to allow for an extended overseas sojourn."

Think I'm staying put for another 12 months and letting things settle.

The biggest ******* in Australian politics. Surprised he didn't try to blame Dan Andrews for this too.
"Mr Smith, did you think hitting the car was an error of judgement?"
"No sir, I thought it was Dan Andrews. It's his fault I thought he was a car"
"What about the fence"
"Also Andrews"

Carn, if we are trying to denigrate someone's character by holding them accountable for their children's bad behaviour, that's a bit much.

Seen this claim a couple of times. Any evidence to it?
They are still testing, but less.
Likely because less symptomatic disease or less disease altogether or people are less fussed with coming in for testing and want to get on with their lives..ie not isolate.
They do have a good vaccine rate and they did get the good stuff from Scomo 😉 of course.

Was Anne wills the face of Australian TV for decades?
Vale Moonface! :thumbsu:🥇
Absolute Legend of Australian entertainment - even if he followed Fitzroy ;)
70 years in radio, tv and stage.

Remember old video footage of him and Gra Gra Kennedy.
Best ad libber in the game - shat all over anyone the Brits or Yanks want to throw up as an alternative.
Loved his Logie compering.
Made tv such a fun time to watch growing up.

Had shocking health problems for the last decade, so probably a relief for him.
Will miss him for sure.
Bad times lately - Port are crap. Russell is not well. Rowdy Mallett passed away. Covid.
Hopefully things improve.

Surely they are responsible to an extent, what extent is debatable, but parents ARE responsible to AN extent.

Look at Biden.
