Manchester City players could play 13 games in 49 days. Their chances of injury goes up 25% according to a research group which specialises in injury risk forecasting. moomba

Bundesliga have already experienced a higher than average injury rate since the competition resumed.

Lots of players will be in preservation mode for next season you’d think.

What part of the quote do you disagree with?

The notion that a Liverpool title's integrity has been damaged. If they weren't already champions elect I would agree, but given their winning the title was just a formality I don't quite buy into the "*" talk.

I agree completely that the joy of winning the title has been soured extensively by the pandemic, but that's all.

That Troy quote is crazy. It’s almost word for word what I’ve been saying. I slightly disagree with the “integrity” part. The season as a whole has little or no integrity but the one certain thing is Liverpool deserved to be champions

He’s not saying Liverpool’s title integrity has been damaged. He’s saying the competition’s integrity has been damaged and that’s why he feels sorry for Liverpool fans because they can’t secure the title under regular circumstances.

Good thing the title was already won before all this covid s**t went down.
I must’ve missed that part. When did you secure the trophy? I think everyone agrees you deserve it, but it’s not technically won until it’s mathematically won.

Former Liverpool and England midfielder John Barnes says he thinks the league should be restarted “when we’re able to safely play again”.

Speaking to 5 Live’s Clare McDonnell, the Liverpool legend said the season “isn’t like Christmas Day has to be December 25th… the football season doesn’t have to be August to May, you can actually adjust”.

When asked if Liverpool should be given the league, John said “not if teams aren’t going to be called to be relegated, no."

Must have missed the part where you said the same thing about all the teams that havent mathematically avoided relegation yet. Theres surely got to be a * against all those teams playing PL football next year if the leagues concluded early.

Luckily for you and me our teams are 2 out of 3 that are in that position!

It's a big concern, especially when it's coming off a long break and a limited pre season.

Suspect we'll heavily rotate, and across the league there will be lots of games involving B teams.

If that's what he's saying then fair enough, but the wording seems to be suggesting that a Liverpool title wouldn't be the same as if it were secured in any other season, which calls into question the title's integrity. Many on here have said similar and I think it's quite silly to suggest it beyond for 'bantz' purposes.

Presuming they will win, they win it being the best team this year. Don't think there's any doubt of that. For me the competition will have way more integrity if they end it today than try and play the rest of the matches.

That of course doesn't impact the integrity of the league when teams play B teams every 2nd game
I don't think clubs have a choice. Try and push through with the same players and you'll start impacting on the health of your team for next season.

Makes a farce of the competition.

“But in terms of integrity, there’s no way you could say this is a viable competition”. To me, it sounds like he’s having a crack at the competition. He’d be an idiot to suggest they’re not worthy champions.

Couldn’t give a stuff if our season had an asterisk anyway. The whole thing is a mess.

Yeah re-reading it that’s exactly what he’s saying so I’m in total agreement with what he said.

"This is not going to be that year Liverpool won the league being the best team".

Yes it is, they were the best team and they're going to win the league because of it. To suggest they're going to win the league for any other reason is wrong.

Again, you’re misinterpreting it. Read the sentence before that. “It’s still going to be the year spoiled by the pandemic. It’s not going to be that year that Liverpool won the league being the best team”.

Sounds like he’s acknowledging they are the best team, but the season will always be remembered for being spoiled by the pandemic, which is a very fair shout.

All I know is that Liverpool supporters don’t think anything can happen anymore.... as they did, in February. Lol.

It doesn't matter what they or anyone else thinks, Liverpool will be crowned champions of England in whatever way, shape or form, it still makes me laugh that some people honestly believe it won't happen, its hard to say whether they are just baiting Scousers, or a just thick/naive.
