So which strategy are we following for VIC now:

(A) suppression

(B) NZ - elimination

(C) Sweden

Clearly not (a) - way too much risk, or (c) . So that only leaves elimination?

Looking at the pictures on twitter of people watching the whales on the peninsula it is c Sweden

...as I said, can't trust the people on the Peninsula to follow the rules. Thus why they needed to be locked down like the rest of Melbourne.

Its not working, cops need to harshly enforce the fines and make them 50k a pop then maybe people will stop being dumb campaigners

If a company director maintains an unsafe workplace and someone is badly injured or dies, they can be personally sued or imprisoned?

What is the case if the owner of a Security company allows a virus to escape, and someone who can trace it to that event, has long term disability or death from it?

In both cases they are free to try to blame the incompetence of their employees.

can you provide proof that the ball went out of bounds when smacked in by Wayne Harms that beat Collingwood again :D in a GF ?.

seriously get a grip, this is overhyped and the virus is not, i repeat not the killer they made it out to be, nothing like it in fact

its been demonstrated several times in the last few pages that the CDC considers this virus flu like in its mortality and even safer for kids

why not concentrate on aged care facilities and stop the hysteria
Still no proof i see.

Why not focus on those who have survived but are suffering from ongoing complications? Reduced lung function, ongoing fatigue, blood clots and, even acute kidney failure are some of the effects that people are still suffering from months after contracting it. Many of them young and fit too.

932 actives - with around 500 in the last 3 days and thankfully ICU patients have gone from 5 to 9.
That said these are not ICU numbers that justify a crisis let alone a lockdown.

ICU cases don't determine a lockdown. That is like waiting for a tsunami to hit before you run. Increasing case numbers are like buoys in the ocean going off letting you know shit is about to hit the fan.

off course it is!

what do you expect when one of points was that Snowden predicted a Corona Crisis. That’s the stuff of the conspiracy theorist like Drs Shiva, Buttar Kaufman etc who are making money pedaling lies.
Come on mate - while I agree with much of your posts when you expose your conspiratorial bent i have to draw the line.

when the vast majority of cases are asymptomatic it make no sense to lockdown ONLY when positives go up past an arbitrary level - given that the vast majority of people don’t need medical care.

And instead of pointing this fact out to calm the public we instead locked down with 5 people in ICU. And since the announcement of lockdown we’ve added 500 cases with the ICU number only going up by 4.

Where’s the crisis -remembering that we added 4000 ICU beds to actually cope with an expected “Tsunami”.

I’m not criticizing the Govt for preparing for the worst - that was appropriate. But to now act as if we have a major problem (whose scale is orders magnitude lower than projected) is disingenuous

People who test positive don't all go into the hospital or ICU straight away.

Not sure you're getting the premise of the argument. It is a certainty that there will be a significant increase in hospitalisations within a month - the lockdown is meant to mitigate this. There are many real life examples around the world of what happened when the lockdown was too late, when it was already spreading in the community - the later surge in hospitalisations completely overwhelmed health care systems in even first world countries.

0 infections, they can do whatever they want.

Did I miss the announcement that the Mornington Peninsula isn't one of the LGA covered by the current Stage 3 restrictions?

i completely understand because someone had the same argument as yourself suggesting that it would be mayhem if we had 3,000 active cases. I then projected for him that even if we increased ICU hospitalization rate 5 fold to accommodate the lag, we would still only fill 100 ICU beds with 3000 active cases.
So the lag possess no substantial issues, I can however see how it is unnerving for some people, hence why I offered perspective with the extrapolation.

0 infections, you said they can't be trusted, 0 infections says they can, keep being outraged.

Unable to answer my previous question??

The Mornington Peninsula LGA is currently under Stage 3 Lockdowns--- yes.

The Mornington Peninsula has had 63 confirmed cases & was one of the worst LGA's during the first wave--- yes.

People on the Mornington Peninsula have been seen lacking the ability to follow Stage 3 lockdowns & social distancing practices today in photos on social media-- yes.

That's what I'm saying..... the area has had more COVID cases than my local area and I live in the inner suburbs.

...as I said, can't trust the people on the Peninsula to follow the rules. Thus why they needed to be locked down like the rest of Melbourne.

So please explain why they can't be trusted when they are currently on 0 active cases and have only seen 3 infections since May 7.

And as for lacking the ability to follow stage 3, you didn't get out today did you. You were a good little boy and did what you were ordered to do didn't you.

Suppression, they expect cases but they are currently too high.

Supression is ****ing dumb it will just lead to rolling lockdowns with no promise of an actual vaccine just hopes and dreams

You said they can't be trusted

Because they can't be.... the area has had 63 confirmed cases and their residents deliberately ignored self-isolation rules when they had tested positive back in March.

Now today they can't even follow the Stage 3 Restrictions the day after they've been reimposed. How thick do you have to be to ignore the health advice on the first day?

I could never understand why medical experts were claiming that kids couldn't spread the virus. It made no sense at all, are they a different species? Naturally, governments were going to take that advice on board and declare schools safe.
Because the human body is complicated. They might not know why, but children are still regarded as low level spreaders, the younger, the lower the spread. So it will be interesting to know if that cluster’s spread is from children or primarily adults spreading it around. They’ll be studying this for years.

I see you have been on a rant about the beautiful Peninsula all day so i will just leave you with this.

If the MP were one of the worst back in April they are now equal best in July, it looks like WE learnt our lesson and are moving on with flying colours and are currently covid FREE and enjoying the beautiful sights this part of Victoria has to offer, maybe you inner city, westerners and northerners should do the same and stop thinking your shit doesn't stink and grow the **** up and stop ruining it for everyone who was doing the right thing.
