It's awesome to be reducing lockdowns but some of this doesn't seem very well thought out. Hopefully they'll amend as they go:

- why wait another week to start?
- allowing pubs and restaurants to open with 20 patrons is a smoke screen. No pub could justify doing that, it would cost them more money than staying shut, due to staff and security requirements. The casino can do the same - can you imagine the whole casino complex only having 20 people in it? I would prefer that they mandated something like the 4m2 and minimum distances for tables, that way larger venues (Casino, Camfield) can also get going.
- why are we keeping outdoor gyms and playgrounds closed, when most other states are opening them?

To the best of my knowledge the government wants to give a week for the pubs to be able to put in a COVID-19 plan. Even just things like be able to advertise to their consumers that you must make bookings, or capacity, or if they will be open as well, as well as completing the government training required for it. I actually like the move of waiting 9 days for it, but I just wish they had gone with the 4m2 rule instead of a blanket 20 people.

My guess is Crown will only open up the High Roller areas (Pearl Room) before letting the great unwashed come anywhere near the property.

For my area, I think places like the Belmont Tavern that have been closed the whole time might remain closed but the Sporting Globe, which has been doing takeaways for the last six weeks will open up, keep up the current takeaways while having all the patrons on the other side of the pub.

Curious to hear what people have been missing most during the last couple of months? What's the thing you'll be rushing out to do once it's ticked off?

Gym?
Getaway?
Pub?
Sport?

I haven't been into Freo in a while and I do quite enjoy going for a walk/play around there with the young bloke before picking a spot for a good beer. It feels like forever since I've paid someone else to cook me some food and pour me a beer from a tap.

I have been hanging out for a night of 3 pints and a feed for ages, but am curious as to whether I will actually do it when the time comes. I have family that are outside the Perth region I want to see, and some of those have respiratory issues. I think I might hold off on doing anything before seeing them just in case

(I understand the odds are incredibly slim but I actually did have a Rona scare a few days after seeing my folks last time which was early March, and the paranoia of "s**t, I sure hope I haven't murdered my Mum and stepdad by staying over for two nights" was pretty real). It turned out to just be a sore throat and fever never developed, but was a scary few days.

Miss eating recklessly knowing I could smash the gym the next day. Also was going to the gold Coast for the eagles game on Thursday. That's obviously not happening now

Wife's 40th coming up late June - looks like we may be able to do a trip to somewhere at least (we were initially looking at Vanuatu but clearly that's going to be a 41st thing). Hopefully Margs wineries will be open - Air BNB with a fireplace could be a winner.
Karri Valley Resort has had an upgrade. THat's a great spot, the cabins have fireplaces too. A bit frigid down Pemberton way in Winter though.
This place is pretty cozy, we stayed here for our honeymoon and a couple of other times

Friends, Family and Bunnings....and not necessarily in that order

I hit up Bunnings at 2pm on Friday to avoid the weekend BS. It was packed. People wearing masks, people without masks coughing and clearing their throat, people walking between me and the shelving as I was grabbing things instead of keeping 1.5m away. It was horrible. I bailed really fast.

Yeah once I can get back in there I'll probably wonder why I missed it

I start getting claustrophobic when I'm in a shop for more than 10- 15 mins, especially if people are not keeping their distance, a couple of times I've abandoned ship and got the hell out. I'm in danger of creating a phobia, hopefully if things ever get back to normal so will I.
