What will replace it, do you reckon?

Some form of state managed capitalism with strong socialist tendencies.

Capitalism in the exchange of goods and services for money isn't going away, it is the basic condition of civilisation.

But so are socialist principles of equality of access, anti price gouging, a strong safety net.

By this time next year the Australian government will almost certainly own the banking system, airlines and whole range of other services.

Like it used to lol.

If there's 10-15 per cent unemployment, there'll be huge demand for state funded infrastructure works like building the transmission infrastructure required to decarbonise the economy.

Speaking of political opportunists, where have those idiots Bandt & Hanson-Young been hiding?

Have they immersed themselves in a vat of Dettol and sealed the lid?

...............and Winton? Where's that idiot when there's political points to be manufactured?

Stupid question time.

I’m not a home owner.

What are ‘negative interest rates’ and what do they mean?

You pay the bank to keep your money in their account.

Oh I see you're in the early stages of your regular late afternoon turn for the worse.

You leave money in the bank, you pay interest.

Cut & paste GR?

The soft **** blocked me.

It’s pretty weak hey

I need to put complete arsehats like you on ignore. Bye.
You are the gold standard example as to why moderators should also be subjected to the ignore function.
Lift your game or go back on ignore with the other clowns.

I have no time for your OT attention whoring.

This is your only warning.
Please, don't waste either of our time attempting to converse any further. You will be ignored.
Quickest flick of the ignore button in history.
Even better use of the ignore button, wozzle.:thumbsu:
Now, if you have nothing solid by way of contrary input to add, then take your alt account and jog along before I euthanize it. :thumbsu:
Your argument is a ghost. Bye.

Be surprised if they were that efficient with testing. Like us, they have probably introduced measures in steps to reduce the impact.

that your tinder profile has been swiped left so many times it has gone into the negatives.

Based on past experiences, I consider that a win...

I was the face of Anti-Twitter for years :P

Didn't they used to say "buy in gloom, sell in boom", shares seem to be going pretty cheap at the moment, what do any of our financial experts reckon ?

They've got a lot further to fall.

Look to buy in about July when we've got a sense of how bad it is/has been.

I reckon it's going to get gloomier. Buy then.

Ask yourself where you think the country and the value of the stock is going to be in 12 months, 3 years, 5 years and beyond. Share market is a long-term investment, if you shut out what are short-term issues and trends currently and try to predict where the nation/world/yourself will be in the future unless you are very old and heading to retirement soon, the opportunity to buy into some stocks at heavily discounted prices is a golden opportunity.

I'd never give people advice on what to do online and everyone's situation is different, but I can't think of a client who didn't aggressively invest in downturns like the GFC that didn't make a killing. However, those people had the means to ride out a fairly long downturn, the GFC wasn't that long of a downturn and I don't think the current one should be, however, nobody has a crystal ball.
