I think Suma should move on regardless of whether he gets a senior position or not. I think he suffers from a perception of being a follower to Woosha and not a leader in his own right. It may improve his prospects to become an assistant at a Victorian club.

I can't think of any AFL club that has / would stand in the way of one of their assistant coaches getting a senior role at another club.

Personally, I'd love to see Suma get a senior gig and do well - sounds completely stupid when he speaks and is one of the last players I would have pegged to be a decent coach, but I loved him as a player and always thought he was unfairly maligned by some. To see him succeed as a coach would be a great credit to him.
