While im sure someone will put up the link to the interview with Craig on 5AA, thought I'd share a few comments on player inclusions this week.

Hentschell is no chance this week. He said everything clear for dangerfield. He is still in Melb but if he pulls up well in the next day or two from that tackle, he could play. Id say he will miss a week or two.

Tippet is doubtful and VB wont be playing this week. Johncock is a chance. They are unsure about Stevens - still has to be assessed. The concern is his awareness/alertness and that has to be cherry ripe before he can be picked.

Rowey asked Craig what he doesn’t like about griffin, and he said he liked the improvement this year but he dropped out because of sellar's ability to play defense (and mentioned how Maric can also go forward). Didnt explain why Griffin didnt play on the weekend though. Craig said that Griffin has had a good attitude this year, training form has been as good as he's ever seen and he'll get a chance again.

He said he doesnt regret stating that the team has top 4 expectations a couple months ago. He said he does feel for supporters because it gives them a high expectation.

The guy is a joke. I hate it how he always tries to explain how we as supporters should be feeling.

"We liked Sellar over Griffin because of his flexibility, Griffin can only play in the ruck. Griffin's training form over the past two weeks has been as good as I've ever seen".

Games aren't won on Max Basheer Reserve you spud. And our side is no more flexible than any other side in the comp. Yeah, the quest for more flexibility to Walker is doing his game the world of good.

You're so hard to please Drummond, must be an only child.

What's the deal with Stevens? Has he still not recovered from when McPharlin knocked him out in Perth last year?? He takes far too long to recover from a knock to the head.

i'd suggest if you don't like it, then theres a club down at the other end of tapleys hill road that might be more your liking. i've lost count of the amount of childish dummy spits i've seen from you. "Supporters" like you are the type of idiots you hear ringing up Cornsey and Rowey and breathing fire and brimstone and demanding people like Neil Craig - who like it or not, who a shitload more than a spud like yourself - be hung at the gallows

seriously, grow up!

Ok Stevens is a little simple at the best of times (when ive spoken to him at functions he seems like that) so id like to know why theyve only picked up o this now :p

Danger is a gun, he would play with a neck brace on!

Hentschel i fear will never play for the club again- i assume they will treat this the same as they treated it last year (from memory he had a Arthroscope) and by the time he gets that done and gets game time it could be 4-6 weeks by which time we could be a lot stronger not to mention the fear that he will have the same thing happen..

VB is another concerning one- this is another indefinite to add to the list really.

I would like to add that i hope that hentschel does play again.

Cant wait for Jimmy to come back after seeing him play the first quarter and a half the other week im so excited (ive never been excited about him before) due to his potential!

Did anyone else hear Josh Francou on Ch 10?

He basically said we should have the km's under our belt, no matter how may players on the bench, to beat a bottom two side in Melbourne.

He also had a go at Taylor Walker for chatting to someone from the opposition after the siren. His words were along the lines of, 'You've just lost, go back to the rooms and get ready for next week'.

I don't see a problem with what he said. He should've gotten straight off the field, especially considering the kind of game he had.

Loved Ivan on the news. He's so passionate. :thumbsu::thumbsu:

I couldn't believe any of that when he said it! Clearly our players would be EXHAUSTED when they can't have a rest when Melbourne players could have several. And since when is 18 vs 22 fair and equal?? From now on, how about teams just send 18 players out and just have 4 on the bench who are only allowed on if there's injuries and if the players get tired, bugger them, they should toughen up!

And the thing about Walker - WTF?! So they're not allowed to talk to mates they might not see for another couple of months?? Most players have a chat after the game with their opposition. The games done, and they can't think about next week considering they have the debrief the next day. What did he expect Walker to do? Tell the guy to p*ss off??

Francou is a tool. Bring back Andrew Jarman! At least he made jokes to lighten the mood.

You having a crack at someone else for childish dummy spits? :p

I've never rang up FiveAA after a game. And I love the "supporter" comments, they're so great. :thumbsu: Because I don't think everything this club does is right must mean I'm less of a supporter. Cut the rubbish, I won't stop being a member and I won't stop attending the games, doesn't mean I can't be critical though and I certainly don't think our current coach will lead us to a premiership. So if that means I should follow Port then yeah...

Yes I heard that. Fair enough if we had guys not under duress, but when you have half done guys playing out a full game I am not surprised most were out on their feet in that last quarter. Funny no mention from Francou about the injury list. If that was Port it would have been the first thing he would have mentioned.

I don't disagree with what he said either. Scott Thompson was near my side of the ground having a ripe old chat to Cameron Bruce. I was thinking at the time that he should be over with his team mates given our season just went down the toilet. But I guess it doesn't matter hugely in the scheme of things.

Haha yeah Ivan's voice is a bit dry and monotone. I thought it was funny when he's just plain sitting there talking about getting furious with no expression on his face :D

In order to spin your way out of something, anything, you must be able to rely on people who are prepared to accept any old toss, regardless of how it tastes. tell em a shit sandwich is tapenade, and all is good :thumbsu:

unchallenging viewpoints are the reason spin has crept in politics, economics, and most areas of society.

whilst you think you are holding the line, have you considered the other side of the coin?

Are you saying NC is lying or massaging the truth.

I feel better after listening to him.

Vote 1 Neil Craig ;)

Neil Craig always massages the truth, he's done it in press conferences from day 1.

and what I have always said since day 1, is that he probably shouldn't be sharing the good oil with the world and its dog.

I wish he were lying, that way I'd feel better about him saying our intensity was good and he was pleased with our endeavour.

question for you, or whoever wants to tackle it:

1. how many of our leadership group played?
2. how many of our 2009 B&F top 10 played?

I don't see the talent starting on the field, lining up with what happened in the first 3 quarters. maybe I am missing something, but it looked to me, like the majority (not all) of our prime movers were out there.

not every player is equal, but as far as the guys we expect to win us games and enable us to be competitive, in the most part they seemed to be out there.

I don't find Francou biased at all. He loved us last year and constantly bagged Port and their style of play. He also just wrote a column today on how pathetic Port were on the weekend.

I'd suggest that on this forum, supporting Craig is 'challenging the viewpoint' as there seem to be a vocal group of of supporters calling for his sacking. I do think Craig is tapenade and the evidence is his performance over the last 5 years, not the last 3 weeks.

We have been consistent over five years, but there is a difference between a good coach and a great coach. I dont think that Craig is proactive enough yet as a coach both on the field and with list development to be a great coach.

A great coach can stay ahead of the development curve and make the hard decisions to bring success while some coaches just dont have that instinct and take the safe route and only achieve limited success.

No case to answer

Awesome to hear him single Taylor Walker out for a turn over towards the end of the game but neglected to identify the critical turnovers by Michael Doughty who executed a handballed error by handballing it behind Petrenko who was running into an open goal. And Tyson Edwards has yet to hit a target all season.
