News Craigy has said Burton will not play this weekend

Just had a quick look at Team Thursday on AFC.com and they have said Burton won't be lining up and that Walker will play and Danger got through training.

Also Stiffy and Knighta won't play and Macca got through so he should be right.

Craig's interview made it sound like Burton was omitted due to form. The conversation after that, led Burton to believe that he needs to increase the strength of his knee to regain the form required to get back into the side.

If so it would appear the coach has done exactly what everyone on this board has cried out for him to do and at arguably the correct time.

Great decision by Craigy, hopefully Tex can perform well enough to retain his spot in the side for the remainder of the year.

I also have doubts that Burton's leg strength can be regained, but I guesss we will have to wait and see how the season pans out.

Respect has to go to Craigy... I have criticized him for his failure to drop senior players due to form while at the same time saying he doesn't give out gold passes but he has finally put those words into actions by dropping an under-performing Burton and giving young Tex a crack.

Yup, I think its quite obvious watching him that his anaerobic strength and capacity is shot. This is something that is extremely hard to regain midseason.

my concern, over the past month it has been obvious to all (except the bias Birdman fans) that he had lost the power in his legs, so if the solution is that he needs gym time to strengthen the leg, why the hell did the club keep playing him

this makes the decision to drop Tex 3 weeks ago even more Bizzare

the win / win situation would have been to ommitt Birdman 3 weeks ago to build his leg strength and this would have given Walker greater opportunity at AFL level
