Cricket on Wii

Doesn't look bad, might have to give it a look

Would really like to see how this game plays. Probably won't be buying it (desperately trying to save for a holiday) but it would be nice to actually have a decent cricket game for once. The last one was Shane Warne 99.

Still I have been disappointed so many times this decade regarding cricket games, so I have severe doubts.

I for one won't be buying it. It's nearly false advertising, because you don't actually swing in the direction you want to hit the ball. You point with the remote where you want the ball to go and then swing to time the ball properly.

zzzzzzzz....

Batting is average. Bowling is good. I think the let down was that they call it cricket but its basically Australia and England. The rest are made up teams.

This is the same game as Ashes cricket 2009 they just changed the name for the Australian market because of the delay.

The other countries have wired names but I think you can change the names to the right ones manually

Well for one, they haven't made a decent cricket game in ten years. And second, the Wii is a god-awful console for serious gaming so how is a game as complicated as cricket ever expected to be any good at all?

The idea of first person batting with WM+ - driving through the covers, edging the ball, sweep shots, hooking the short ball...would be brilliant.

Couldn't reasonably expect a quality experience for another decade though imo.

game is terrible, avoid at all costs

bowling is the only redeeming feature, the batting is just plain horrible

I know, it would be perfect. You could even throw in some balance board support for foot movement, although that might get a bit difficult, haha.

Don't be fooled. This game is nothing like the PC/XBox/PS3 versions and the weren't without their problems. It was made by a completely different company.

The company that made the other versions, Transmission Games, has gone bankrupt.

6,6,6,6,6.......

Awful game. The only way to avoid the batsmen hitting it over the rope is to bowl a mile outside off stump... which somehow is never (well barely ever) called a wide. Of course you can move the batsmen after seeing the line, but he moves so ridiculously slow and never makes it across. Definite no buy.

Couldn't have put it better myself!

Played this at a mates house

Its horrible, maybe if they put in half an effort it could have been alright but its just terrible

The batting makes me want to throw up

Got this game the other day. I'm disappointed.

For batting, it's either a block or a shot in the air. :thumbsd:

If you turn the difficulty to International the game is ok I played a 20/20 game and fell a few runs short of the target and found is harder to bat against the spinners

Annoying how you can't change the player names.

If it wasn't for manual aim of batting I wouldn't be playing although even then motion detection would be SO much better, i.e. swing the way you want it to go.

Bowling was fun and it didn't feel as repetitive as on a PlayStation.

Tutorial's are a bore :thumbsd:

The commentary is actually really in-depth :) but gets repetitive after a while :(

A lot more fun 2 player ;)

Disappointed with it.
Batting is fun.
Having trouble with bowling and taking wickets. Fielders don't move unless the ball goes directly to them. Would like squads of real players for all countries. Sheffield Shield and English county cricket squads would have been nice. Australian squad outdated on date of release. No Paine, Manou, Bollinger, Ferguson. Symonds still in squad.
Playing Ashes series against England. Only bowlers used were Anderson, Flintoff with an occasional over from Broad. Even when getting smashed for 15-20 runs an over. Should put more work into the next cricket game.

"A bowler doesn't need to be fit to run a marathon, he needs to be fit to bowl" :p
