While not reaching the levels of the AFL, cricket does tweak a few rules occasionally across all formats, particularly in the push to spruce up the one-day game.

I thought it might be interesting to have a thread to chat about the rules you'd like to see tweaked.

Personally, I'd be I favour of banning the sweep shot. Sweep shots should not count.

It's pretty easy, anyone could do it. I find it pretty easy to just waltz down the pitch sweeping spinners, even on turning wickets. It's not that special.

Some of the hacks that have built test careers on their sweeping, LOL.

Those records should not be counted.

What are your thoughts?

Make squad subs official. You can drag up to two players a match and substitute someone else. Only they aren't rolling. Once subbed, you stay off.

Otherwise, make bowlers stay on the pitch for a session. None of this off after a spell for a rub-down and a change of clothes. Umps gave up policing this one years ago.

Batsman shouldn't be able to run after a fielder has thrown down the pegs from an attempted run out and the ball has ricocheted into the outfield.
