Maxwell has been fine. Was good again today compared to others. At least he tries to move the scoring along. Like most Maxwell haters, you hold him to an unrealistic standard.

Finch is a rubbish opener, Khawaja is not a one-day player. Fix those two positions and the line-up is solid.

Was a shit shot tho. He’d top-edged one that hurried on to him for four a couple of balls earlier and already had 8 off the over. Had no business getting done for pace like that.

They were already 2 down when I got here, but handscombe and stoinis got out to good nuts, and marsh and khawaja got done in flight rather than playing the wrong shot. You can have the rest of them though.

Yeah I’m here at the ground, not watching on tv so you might have had a better look at some of them than me. The handscombe one looked to me like it hurried through low on him. The marsh and khawaja ones were definitely bad shots, just not “no business playing that bullshit there” shots.

I generally agree with you about maxy tho. Gets judged harshly.

Patterson would have to be close to booking a day on the Ashes tour.

Handscomb has proven his technique is not up to Test cricket.

Patterson just has to play, he doesn’t really have any obvious kinks in his armour.

I’d actually prefer he gets a few tests to his name before they throw Pucovski to the wolves.

Handscomb has 2 test hundreds and 4 50’s to his name. He had some technique issues but it’s no worse than Travis Heads decision making.

Other than the dismissals, I didn't watch any of the CA XI game, but heard that Pucovski batted really well in both innings, but obviously got out hooking in teh first dig. I think it will be Renshaw that misses out against Sri Lanka, and Pucovski will play. Agree too that after his efforts in that game, Patterson should be a late call up.

I know she's a jet, but I thought Alyssa Healy was just as good too?

Honestly, this post made me think though, women's sport in Australia is going ****ing gangbusters atm. You could argue that pound for pound a majority of our top 10 athletes are women.

Happened to be watching that - unbelievable finish, renegades went from snatching the win to being sent to a play-off super over because of one outstanding piece of fielding on the boundary and a perfect reaction and throw from the keeper. Can’t help think their disappointment carried through to the extra over.
