Why was Starc dropped?

There was a lot of discussion in the last Test that Starc in test cricket is a high risk, high reward option. He’ll take wickets but probably leak runs. I’d assume they wanted a safer option. Mind you, the way Sids has bowled so far, they might as well have had Starc.

We’ve missed more chances this morning than any time other than the last horrible gasp at Headingley.

I think the real mistake was Siddle in for Starc.

Cummins bowls Root for 57, who should’ve been out three times earlier on. Despite them having a fairly cruisy first day we’re only a couple of wickets from being right on top.

Yep, he’s on fire! Bowling close to 90mph and swinging it more than we’ve seen from any of our bowlers this series. This is great viewing (apart from the fact I have a 7.30am meeting in the city FFS).
