Croad has proven to be a vital part to our team structure at CHF. He looks like he might get rubbed out atleast for a week. With Boyle, Roughead and maybe Barker as sutiable replacements at CHF (Which all are no where near in the class of Croady) Can you see us seriously struggeling over the weeks with out Croad?

He'll get one week at the most. He's looking good at CHF. Wish he could kick better cause he'd be that much more dangerous, but he's really maturing as a player, and isn't just a fill in CHF but has been quite dominating.

Pleasing thing is we still have Boyle, Franklin and possibly Barker at some stage to come in so we have some sort of key position depth even Croad can't play this week.

We'd miss him enormously if he does get rubbed out though.

why will he only get one week- he should get teo

his actions were:

intentional
in play

that, if the tribunal is to have any credibility, is definitely worthy of a two match suspension.

but of course, fevola was ripped off
one big blue eye staring at us right there.
And if you want to talk about reportable offences, where was the report for the two Carlton players that picked up a lone hawk near the boundary and practically threw him into the fence. Croad was at least directed towards a contested ball... the action by the Carlton players was just bullish and stupid.

Jordan Russell (who copped the Croad hit) had concussion after the game and had a visit to hospital to get it checked out.

Not what you want in your second game as a teenager.

Anybody who thinks the contact was light needs to think again.

Ah... wasn't aware of that...

Just have to wait and see then.

You might have information that I don't Mojo, but there is nothing on any match report/s or on the Blues official site about Russell being concussed that I can find. Everything mentioned says 'nil' regarding injuries coming out of the game and that's for both sides.

He was so good Friday night that you wonder if the Hawks could do without him?

No denying he was in very good form on Friday, but Crawford and others played the same key areas almost as well, and if Franklin or a risky Barker can step up I think those shoes can be filled well enough for a week against Essendon.

The current tribunal system is farsical when it comes to contesting penalties. It is weighted to penalize anyone who contests anything! Often, depending on point totals at the tribunal, a player cannot have his side of an incident heard without risking an increase in punishment. A player is judged guilty until proven innocent.
IMO Croad cannot afford to contest the reprimand. From what I saw in the replays on TV, he probably deserved a reprimand, but he certainly seemed to try to minimize the contact when Russell dropped his head.
The 93.75 points Croad will carry forward when he accepts the penalty and leftover points that are credited towards the next offense for a player like Fevola are the other silly part of the system. I reckon a player should carry leftover points from the system for the remainder of the season, but any length of time after that is unfair IMO.
Let's say Croad and Fevola each commit an offense that deserves a reprimand in Round 20 next season. The System will bring points from this year into account and both will get suspended for an offense that did not deserve a suspension.
I think they need to fine tune the system and allow up to 100 points to expire at the end of the season if a player faced no further tribunal action during a season.

One of the players told me Grendel.

Our official website is pretty poor and hardly get the injuries up to date.

He kept playing but was dizzy after the game and had a bad headache and was told to get it checked.

hope he goes he deserves a week if he gets off then the tribunals a joke
run by a bunch of people who got no idea

You have a wonderful future as a journalist. No research, and never let the facts interfere with a good story.

Andyt30--I have to compliment you in not using the ; key instead of the apostophe in this post. The use of periods (.) and commas (,) still needs to be incorporated into your literary efforts, but you are making progress!
All things considered, this was not a bad effort. Well done! Your post was fairly coherent. Your thought process was logical. No glaring grammatical errors. Your spelling was quite good as well.
If I had to postulate a theory as to why the quality of your post has improved drastically in only one week's time, I'd guess that you lost all your booze money by betting on Carlton last Friday. Sadly, I predict the quality will quickly deteriorate soon after you receive your next pay packet!

croads contract, it was alot worse then what fevola did so glad croad was cited he won't be so fortunant next time, so i dare him to do it again.

I am sorry.

I do not have the hospitals report to scan and post for you. Since he was not knocked out and carried off on a stretcher of course there is no injury report. He stayed on and kept playing. Tried to do the right thing and not overplay it. He felt sick after the game a couple of hours after the contact and was told to get it checked. He did and thats what I said.

I do not have any link or "breaking" news article about bleeding into the brain or anything so dramatic. Just a senior player mentioning it to me at the VFL game for the reserves on Saturday about Jordan Russell when I spoke to them.

Croad did not get suspended and good luck to him but the contact was severe enough to cause that problem for Russell after the game. Thats the point I was making.

There you go Andyt30! Found a bit of loose change in the pants pocket in the laundry did you? Bet that grog tasted nice after going without for a few days didn't it?
And you are spot on topic, too! Croads contract was the topic on everyone's mind! Didn't know it was alot worse than Fev's contract though. Croad is indeed a "fortunant" lad to have contract, but don't think Fev's should be so much better! And I don't think being cited will have any influence the next time Trent's contract comes up for discussion. Why are you daring Croad to sign another contract that is alot worse than Fev's? I am confused by this part of your post!
Have another bottle of cheap grog and explain yourself please!

And you used 2 commas and a period! Congratulations!
