i know this may seem harsh but i reckon the club needs to push existing members into a policy of use it or lose it.

its extremely unfair that there are many members who probably only go to the one or two big games and just never show up for the rest and this has become more distinctive over the past few years.

reckon members should go to a minimum amount of games and if not able to show theyre participating in the resale program. if they arent met then their membership should be available to the next person on the waiting list.

it does seem harsh and west coast would never do it as they enjoy the 600 bucks per seat they get regardless of no shows but its unfair there are plenty of enthusiastic and young memebrs willing to splash plenty of money on memberships, booze and food only being held off by members that dont even show up to games.

the new stadium couldnt come any sooner.

I agree as i find it difficult to even get tickets to games even against bottom 8 teams.

It's interesting that both the Dockers and eagles management have been pushing the gov't to limit seating capacity to 50000. They want to keep demand greater than supply to ensure that their profits remain. The government isn't buying into this luckily and it will still be 60000.

Yeah because they're pricks who want people to pay to sit on a waiting list, what a joke

Maybe the minority of people who aren't morons got fed up with 35,000 morons who don't know anything about football (such a thing is bearable for some if you're not mediocre, or if you're at least an exciting football team, and if the stadium didn't have the potential to crumble any second, and if you didn't have to take out a mortgage to pay for things)

I can't stand the fans at Eagles games. Especially the ones who sit around me. Dockers games have a far, far better atmosphere.

Agree. The new stadium can't come soon enough.....allow some younger and more passionate supporters to inject some life into home games.

This would be really unfair. A better solution would be to do what other clubs already do- offer up the option of 3 game/6 game memberships. I'm sure some of those serial absentees would take them

I'm a 15 year captain's club noteholder and I haven't used my seats for two games so far, so what? It's like paying for my car bay under my building, it's there for me to use when I want it, and if I don't use it, sucked in to me.

Sometimes I am hosting clients in a box, sometimes we're playing GWS on Monther's Day and I just don't feel like going.

But it is I who pays for the privilege.

Big difference - if you dont go to the game and the stadia capacity if 55000 there will still be 30000 seats available

Hundreds of thousands of wa kids have never even been to a live game of footy.

Eagles need to make the seat resale program easier to manage

My old man never resells

Yeah I never do either, who can be bothered. If I know ahead of time that I won't be going, 9 times out of 10 I lend my passes to someone though.

One of the best things about living in Melbourne is going to WCE games with real fans, a broad cross-section of society.

Not the stale pensioner member set you get at Subi.

they are still real fans, it's just that it's time for rotation. I have been bitterly disappointed with the attendance this year but also back to 2011-12 when we were somewhat successful. Even then the crowd numbers weren't as great as 05-07. It seems that each year our max attendance drops a little as it becomes harder for the pensioners to go to each game.

The resale program is horrible however. I had 6 season tickets that would be going unused this year, as we got given corporate tickets for the season. We rang the the eagles to ses if the next person on the waiting list would want to purchase the season ticket which they would not allow. Only way to give them back was through resale, with obviously no guarantee that you would get anything back on any given week.
Only option was to sell privately. Got full face value for ticket ;)

In previous years we never used the resale either as you only get a portion of your ticket back and only club store credit (not sure if that has changed though)

Pablo_Jackson if that ever arises again consider myself as a potential customer...

back on topic i think the whole system is in shambles. and will need an overhaul sooner rather than later.

buit the way how the club is i doubt anything will happen now because of the new stadium.

its demand & supply.

only 43 odd thousand people can get tickets, have more seats and you give more people the opportunity to go.

by 2018 we'll need the 60K stadium
