finally!!! someone who actually has the same view as me. everyone keeps saying that he wasnt that good and he was too much of a risk, but fitzy deserved a chance, more so than schell. How can the club have let him go??? I hope the crows re-draft him because he didnt deserve to be hit with another blow like this. He is the nicest bloke ive ever seen in my whole life, and even after this, he still manages to keep his spirits up. I wish him all the best at his new club, wherever that may be, and hopefully that club will give him a better chance than we did.

I know that richmond and the Roo's have expressed some interest in Fitzy.....can you fill me in on what type/s of injury's he has been threw. Is he damaged goods because of perception or does he have an exsisting and recacurring injury that will always make him to much of a risk to consider?

He has had both shoulders operated on for severe dislocation, chronic groin problems, and knee reconstructions.

It's a damn pity because he can play, and is a top bloke. he deserves better,

Was thinking the same Nic, I had seen him only a couple of times, but when I did, he looked quite reasonable.

Okay, a tad short for an AFL key position player, but the lad looked to be a goer.

Were there discipline or away from footy problems that haven't got out?

Its true. Gallagher refused to play for the eagles in a final one year.

I was actually laughing at the tragic low that your argument stooped to.

My original thought was that we would re-draft Fitzy and Hanby but I'm not so sure any more. Maybe we still we.

In that case, I'll wait until after the draft before I unpick my guernsey, AGAIN.

Saw young Handby play on 2 occasions live first time against the Magpies & he went pretty good, the next time against the Legs & well he put in a shocker mind you he was no orphan that day,

A bit rough on Fitzy i thought they would have given him one more year especially after coming back from a knee reco,

Would Schell have lasted if he was not still contracted for one more year? very fortunate in my opinion.

I got the impression Handby wasn't really liked by the coaching staff (perhaps him being friends with Angwin), as he wasn't given a chance as AFL level. We will never really know what he could have been.

With Fitzy, AFC obviously thought his injuries this time were near terminal in terms of him being up to the rigours of AFL. Pity as the guy has talent, but it is a ruthless business.

Schell, Marsh & Nelson are all lucky they are on contracts. They would need to do something special in 2003 to remain on the list for 2004.

Nelson is on a contract as well? Sheesh! Were Schell's and Nelson's contracts from Freo and Carlton or were we stupid enough to think they were worth giving more than a year to?
