Big deal. We took a crap deal for Jacobs, shouldn't have agreed to it but it's done now.

Pick 67 will have a better career than Tambling or Sellar that's for sure.

These are my favourites. Which were your favourites?

We'll see what Rendell:o thinks on Monday morning when he still hasn't got the deal across the line.

Your club is run by halfwits who have no idea how to trade properly.

In Swann and Icke we trust.

BTW Pick #67:

2009: Webberley
2008: T.Slattery
2007: PASS
2006: Anderson
2005: PASS
2004: Stribling
2003: PASS

Good luck with that pick :thumbsu::D!

what sort of shit is that to say when you're already on the outs;

Yeah, sounds like he is gone after next year.

I would like to think a successful year may change his mind, but I believe GWS have a window of opportunity to sign players this year. By the sounds of this, he will be all over that...

So Richmond would've taken him.

no they wouldn't have, that's why we held firm. We knew Richmond were priced out of it. they've given Houli a binding nod and a wink anyway. We freed up Mcleod's, Goodwin's, Edwards', Burton's and Bock's salary. No one was getting near him in PSD and everyone knew it.

Whatever helps you sleep at night.

Carlton got the correct value for Jacobs, he was just greatly overrated as to what he was worth on here which makes it look far worse for you guys.

Some of the Adelaide posts on here after the trade are just as embarrassing as many of the Carlton posts before the trade. Show some class guys, you got a good deal and much of what you said on this board turned out to be true. You guys did well in a power of bullshit on this board, but seriously, give it a rest. Not all Carlton posters were being tools. You got your man for a good deal. Well done.

Agree, some humility wouldn't go astray, but I'm pretty sure some of your mob would be getting stuck into us good and proper had Adelaide given you their first round pick.

Yep, safe to say they've all had better careers than Tambling and Sellar.

What I find particularly amusing is a lot of Adelaide supporters (and neutrals) are now talking about how much of a good get Jacobs is, and saying that Carlton 'blinked' and 'got shafted' in the deal.

Yet we had to put up with three thousand posts telling us that we were the ones asking for 'overs', and Adelaides offer of just a second rounder was fair?

Sure, but that was never going to happen and most of us knew that. I take your point though - I am sure it would have been just as embarrassing if that unlikely scenario had unfolded. Nonetheless, it is possible to show some class even if you know it would not have been reciprocated......

Fair enough! To be fair my post was only directed at two Carlton posters. Good luck with your two picks. Hope Sauce becomes what most of you said he was before the end of trade week ;)!

This is what annoys me the most. A lost of us knew Pick 14 was wishful thinking. I had my fingers crossed all week but at the end of the day I didn't expect it given Jacobs circumstances. But now all of a sudden we are push overs.

The past 2 weeks made it pretty clear that 14 was overs and 33 was under but there was no middle ground (we were unlucky that Adelaide had used the Bock pick already). Given he was out of contract and wanted to go home we had to lean it in Adelaide's direction. 15 other clubs would of done the same thing.

By all reports Sauce is a good bloke and has handled this well. He deserves to get where he wants to go. I would be much more upset at the club if they made him sweat through the PSD because we didn't accept pick 33. If it was pick 43? Then we can tell him the offer was just not good enough.

All the best Sauce.

I think that is more of Adelaide rubbing shit into those Carton supporters who were certain we would break and give up pick 14 for Jacobs and calling us idiots in the process.

I think it was a fair deal for both clubs, whilst Jacobs could improve in a few years and some may think Carlton got ripped off for Jacobs, at this current point in time and the position Carlton were in I think they got pretty much what he was worth. Hopefully for Adelaide Jacobs does contiune to improve and be the ruckman like many of the Carlton supporters who were calling for pick 14 expected. I also hope Carlton get something decent for pick 33 in exchange for Jacobs.

To all the other Carlton supporters. Is this bloke always this dumb?

Hard to show too much mental dexterity when talking to a waterfowl.

Crows did better than I thought they would, but they still paid overs for Jacobs and did a mini-Cave at the end throwing in another pick. We won that trade, but it certainly wasn't as big a win as we had last year for example i.e. the Fev trade. Swann did his very best in a hopeless negotiating position. Could have easily gone into the PSD for the Tiges for zip.

Jacobs was surplus for us. And in 2011 I wouldn't be surprised if Hampson moved past him. Sammy's a great tap ruck, but he's not so great around the ground. Does well against the dinosaur types e.g. Mumford. Heaps better than Maric though.

:)
