Campbell is good but he is not as good as Needles.

Why do you say that? They’re both 22, Campbell is a tad taller, both have good skills and have great marking ability for their height.

They are pretty similar players but Campbell gets the nod because of the defensive side of his game. Awesome tackler and can still rack up huge possession counts. Yes Bryce hasn’t proven himself at the top level but after seeing him in the SANFL for three years and often compete against Porps I think Campbell is just as good, if not better.

Well if you're right, we've picked up some bargains in Porplyzia and Campbell in 2 consecutive drafts then. I wonder if this 'lets pick up 20-22 year olds late in the draft' theory will catch on with other clubs instead of this fascination everyone has with teenagers. May even be 3/3 if Nick Gill turns out ok.

I think it is starting to go that way anyhow

clubs are realising that players playing in SANFL/VFL/WAFL aren't always lesser players than their AFL counterparts.
You also know more about what your getting, if you have busted your arse in a lesser league to get to the point of being drafted you obviusly have the desire and the skills. its good to see some common sense finally coming through with some of these clubs

we all know drummond and his one red eye and one blue eye.... but bryce campbell is a quality player.

time will tell. the only things that concerns me is his height. i remember looking at our 22 lined up in the prelim for the anthem and thinking "jeesus we look small". i dont know if we have room for another small in our 22. only injuries will lead to him getting a game at this stage.

That's no reason to pronounce one player better than the other???

I do admire your loyalty but to me he's a vanilla player who has been chosen as a backup player for a particular role.

If he can play his role ...fantastic .... but a long termer I Would seriously doubt it.
