Good stuff by the Crows boys and good to see a big crowd there (Over 6K). Surely Porps will be back for the Easter Sunday clash with Sydney at home. Nice to see the Advertiser put some effort into their SANFL coverage this season... even if that North Adelaide scoreline (a few posts above) has scores for 3 quarters instead of 4.

Great to hear that Porps is back in action:thumbsu:, certainty for next week regardless of our result and performances on Sunday.

Also good to hear the Schmidt and Davis played solid games. Does anyone know Wright's final stats?

Wright - 18 possessions, 1 goal, 4 tackles, 1 clearance, 5 inside 50s

Interesting to see Schmidt give Davis a well done ' low five' when Davis kicked a goal.

He just ducked his head pretty badly in a marking attempt :o

Oh dear. Just saw that:(

Don't want to make a comment that will end up in the 'Daniel Talia' thread in 7 years time but that effort made Luke Jericho look like Jonathon Brown.

I hope we haven't just drafted a lesser-skilled Jericho.

Does look pretty good in space though.

Very soft hands in that attempt but got in front and kept his head up...better signs:thumbsu:

However, in a couple of tackling attempts he looked pretty timid. Doesn't have a natural physical presence for his size. May end up a tall mid/flanker

what was the sponsor covered by elastoplast on the Panthers guernsey.

Interesting game, Talia looking OK for a kid.

Talking with Brayden O'Hara on Saturday night he thought Sturt were the pick for the flag.

Shaun McKernan - is it a worry that he still has to wear an arm brace for a 6 week injury that happened 6 months ago?

Up to half time, has not had his best day, playing in defence has had a few good spoils and tackling has been excellent, but missed too many targets by foot and a dodgy handball set up a Sturt goal.

Adam Cockshell is now my favourite non Crows player in the SANFL.

Talia - not worried by any supposed lack of courage at this stage but his intensity is not good enough at the moment to play AFL, especially tackling he seems to slow down as he gets to the man.

Solo - there's a dispute between the Panthers and the SANFL over whether they're allowed on the Panthers guernsey or not, as Cadbury-Schweppes (which Solo is a part of) is a competitor of 'protected sponsor' Coca-Cola. Similar to the situaton with North and Coopers by the sounds of it.

The SANFL need to grow up on this issue, its hardly sheep stations stakes out in the SANFL suburbia. If the Panthers (and North) can get a sponsor they shouldn't be roadblocked.

I can understand what you're saying but West End and Coca Cola are major sponsors of the SANFL and would be putting a lot of money into the SANFL. You don't want either to diminish their sponsorship (and the asssociated flow on effect) because a couple of clubs have been arranging sponsorships with their major rivals.

Looks like North have managed to arrange a sponsorship deal with Toshiba now so that looks like it's resolved for this year.

Bullseye.

Why should SANFL clubs knock back sponsorship dollars so that the ruling body can negotiate their own all-encompassing sponsorship agreements, the trickle-down effect of which works out to a pittance/9.

If the major sponsors of the SANFL want to get a more exclusive hold over the individual SANFL clubs then the trickle down value needs to be > than what the clubs can negotiate individually.

True, but unless the SANFL sees the light and realises that there is no need to actually protect their sponsors (because its not that big of a deal, it's an AFL ideal) then there will be no North's and South's in their comp because they will all go the way of Port.

It's funny how you have 'protected' sponsors unless of course the sponsorship has been around longer than the league sponsor. much like how the AFL can't make Geelong change from Ford, and no one seemed to care with the Norwood/Coopers agreement
