How is it on the runner they can’t just run on the field whenever and pretty sure they can’t in the last few minutes of the quarter as well.
No doubt would have had the signal from the bench up to the players to pass it on the Tex.

It looked to me as if Tex was asking the umpire where the line was, so he could run on to it and not get called to play on. Which is why he was arguing with the umpire afterwards, he thought he had been told it was OK to do what he did.
