I'm torn in the biggie. Not sure what the track rating is yet, but thinking either Illo or Dunaden. Any other thoughts out there (and have a great and safe day everyone).

Thanks dad. I actually don't gamble. Cup day is the only day i allow a flutter (excluding GF day this year where i backed Varcoe for first goal - $75 thank you very much). I go $5 one horse per race for a win. $50 outlay for the day. If one gets up, i get my cash back. It's funny, i have never had an interest in races of any sort until a few years ago. I feel the pull to the dark side of F1, V8's and the nags. Is fascinating to watch and see people's theory's on how to win.
So got a hot tip MT? I reckon Tugg and a few others will provide some interesting tips.

I just put a sneaky $20 each way on Jukebox Jury at 13-1. I have some concerns about the weight it will be carrying though.
Mourayan might be worth an each way flutter as well at 16-1.
Illo was another that caught my eye and is paying nicely at 21-1.

One of the weaker cup fields we have had lately for sure.
So many overseas plodders... very hard to draw a line through their form over there & how will those who have not raced in a field of 24 handle the pressure?

Too much weight on last years winner I fear though as I say... not that much perhaps to beat!

Mourayan's last run was not a bad lead-in...

Righto, the track rating is dead. Mrs Blood has backed "at first sight" based on 17 being her favorite number (too bad she likes the Swans), the kids over heard me talking this morning, and private blood one has backed Illo, and the younger private blood got on board Niwot. Given that was the case, i've gone Mourayan in the biggie, as it can finish strong on dead tracks.
My otheres are: Languish - race one
Cold steel reign - race two
I'm Jake - race three (back in black got scratched)
Pontiana - race four
African Pulse - race five
Secret Liaison - race six.
I backed nothing after race 7 as i could possibly be asleep in a corner somewhere in Boolara. Happy punting, and if i get up in a few of these, it will go to show that you don't have to know a thing about tipping.

I rarely back fvourites. Wold rather spend a few less dollars on something that is going to pay more. As a cssual punter, it's the way to go and when you get a good win, there are few feelings like it.

Getting 5 times your money is still good IMO.

Box trifecta :Americain, Lucas Cranach, Shamrocker, Tullamore

I had $20 on Dunaden at $8 amongst $100 of bets so I made $60... exactly what I lost playing poker last night.

That is ok though. The no 1 rule of punting...only bet what you can afford or are willing to lose. You can't go wrong then.
