Try living in Subi and having to walk down Rokeby Road past the Subi Hotel half an hour after the game finished.

As a big Freo supporter, let me congradulate the Eagles on their well deserved win.
Can't wait for next year and the feeling the Dockers will get when they beat the reigning Grand Finalists in the local derby.

Whatever. Good on them. They deserved it after an outstanding season. Should give the boys confidence to know we have the premiers measure. I know finals are a different ball game, but gee Freo aren't far off.

Bring on 2007.

Oh what a shame that the win broke your little pea heart! Looks like you jumped on the wrong bandwagon. It must be Karma.

West Coast 2006 Premiers > Fremantle

Thank god Eagles won, I'm a Freo supporter but at least the cup is now in Perth in some form rather than still in Sydney

Relax guys, your turn will come. The dockers are a team on the rise.

Was similar sentiments of the few Eagles fans at the MOB function today (despite one idiot bagging the swans afterwards).

Your mob was the most consistently best side all season, despite the losses in the Derbies. Well deserved flag.

What happened today was probably inevitable.

I wore my Freo gear all day today and all day yesterday.
Let them have their own celebrations.

Yep, same here. Walked through Freo with my guernsey on lastnight, had a few people (who weren't even wearing footy gear at all  ) tell me to take my guernsey off...not in public :p

And wore it down the Cappo strip after the game.

Ah well, our time will come. :)

Disappointed with the amount of freagles this year. Seems to be a lot more than last year.
Well good on 'em! And as pathetic as some Dockers supporters have been acting of late, it doesn't change the fact that you have a great team and there are many Eagleos who will continue to wish your team well in 2007 and vice versa.

It's sad that some people feel the need to harbor strong feelings of abhorrence towards supporters of their opposing WA team, people they often have to work with every day. It's often just a case of having an inferiority complex (yes, this applies to WCE supporters too who feel that they have to put the Dockers down to get their kicks)

We're both following teams that did really well this year and nobody can deny that.

It's something that is unique to WA though and I don't like it. Port hate the crows, Glasgow rangers hate celtic, Man City hate Man Utd, New Jersey nets hate the knicks etc, etc. Christiano Ronaldo was booed last week when Man United played in Portugal because he used to play for their rivals, even though he was a hero during the world cup. Beckham used to cop it from Manchester City supporters when he played for United, but the same people would cheer him on as England captain. It's called cross town rivalry.

I would understand, but disagree with, people supporting the other WA team if state of origin still existed, but it doesn't. Why are people expected to support their cross town rivals in WA, and get filthy looks from people when you tell them as a Freo supporter you hope Sydney win?

Nah it's good for us that they won I reckon.

We've lived in their shadow for years, and it's never helped us. Even though they hadn't won a premiership since we entered the comp, they still had the wood over us.

Now, they've won a premiership, and we know we're good enough to beat them, and other teams in the top 8. This is the kinda spur the club needs, to build and go onto bigger things than winning a derby, making the finals, winning a final. Now the only thing that really sets the benchmark is a premiership.

That's the one positive to come out of today. The freo players would have been sitting in the stands at the 'g watching Judd and Worsfold receive the cup thinking we were good enough to beat them twice this season. Hopefully that really burns in the players stomachs over the pre-season.

Added hunger + finals experience + a fit Hasleby hopefully equals a Freo premiership in 2007.

Briefly at work today I had a chance to say i was on the Swannies. It created a bit more fun for that part of the game during the first quarter we were watching.
I said to the other people there that I dont care how many premierships your team wins I just dont want to reminded of it every other day.

The more I think about it the more depressed I get. Nothing worse than a friggen toast supporter telling me how many premi.....yada yada, brownl.... yada yada sheesh.
