If not they get an elite player for a year around the young lads and will get decent value for him you'd think.
Just heard Connors quote. It was just him backing up his player and his desire for us to roll over. Not much to see there.
What's this great servant bullshit Connors keeps harping on about though? He's only given us two, three years tops, of actual top flight football. He was incredibly inconsistent before then. He hasn't even been a "great" player for half of his time here.
It's ridiculous that we spend all this time developing him into a top 3 midfielder in the comp and we lose his best years of service. FA should be 10 years minimum. There needs to an opposite mechanism for clubs trading contracted players without consent, just like in the NFL.

Yes its possible. Lets not forget though that football is not this blokes number one priority and he has already walked out on one club for no other apparent reason.

Guys if we don't match there is definitely more to it. There will be another deal that gets us pick 9 and possibly next 1st round pick for compo pick. This will be a complex trade that will probably include the compo pick. I am sure whatever the potential trades are, they will be checked with AFL prior to us agreeing to anything.

It's just semantics, trying to scare Adelaide into just giving Danger away. Trust me Connors does not want Danger to go into the draft and you watch his attitude change to encouraging Geelong to get the deal done if it comes to a trade.

Conners playing a very confusing game. On one hand he's demanding that his players earn millions per season but on the end hand saying "oh yeh probably worth just a second rounder" to ensure that they get to their club of choice. Clearly a pretty dumb bloke but like other people in the industry he fought his way to the top by being a slimy conniving snake.
Anyway seems like he and Hutchy are forming a tag team, trying to convince the listening public that the Crows should just roll over.

Well this thread is as boring as I'd imagined.
Going to be a slow week before Geelong finally put out an offer to Dangerfield and we see how we play it. In the situation where we don't match, then it'll be another week to see if there are any 'dodgy' side deals had before we really know what we get in return.
