Disgusted with this deal. 1 mid first round draft pick, 1 mid second round draft pick, 1 completely unproven player drafted with pick 55. Geelong saw the opportunity to bend us over instead of doing a fair deal and went with it. Danger said he wanted a fair deal for both clubs, he should be unhappy knowing Adelaide didn't get a fair deal.

Anyone expecting Danger to do us any favors is kidding themselves.

He wouldn't give a shit, and, to be honest, nor should be.

We should be tough enough and smart enough that we can extract maximum value, without relying on Danger to ask the Cats to be nice to us...

Sadly, we're not.

WTF?? A first round pick, a second round pick and a former pick 55 for a top 3 player???? What the **** AFC. We need an elite talent to replace an elite player, not a bunch of mediocre players. Two first round picks minimum you ******* idiiots.
Some seriously incompetent people running our club it seems. Noble, Harper

What has that got to do with it?

Their club is pig headed and they forced out a better deal from Port last year as a result.

What is wrong with waiting to try and get Geelong a little sweaty when Danger cries in their ears to appease you guys?

Who is to say that hasn't been happening already? We obviously want this done early for reasons. I'm willing to wait and see if that is the case. If not then you can bet I will not be happy and will express it, but you always have to look at the overall picture when assessing trades for a club, which means a bit of a wait and see approach.

Top three player lol

Fyfe
Pendles
Kennedy
Hannebry
Priddis

Would all be in my team before Danger.

We overrate Danger too much. He is a pure see ball get ball player. Is great at winning the ball from a pack but then more often than not will spray the ball straight into opposition hands, unless there is a simple option to kick too. We will miss his ball winning ability in congestion, his strong hands and his ability to run from a pack. I wont miss his turnovers or the his wincing on the ground after a bit of contact.

The guys i lifted above can all create play from less obvious situations. They all have time and space and are rarely rushed with their possession under pressure.

Yes

Also Geelong were not really looking to blood youth this year

Sorry, I must disagree with this.

We had 4 debutants this season who played a combined total of 43 games (Cockatoo, Kolodjashnij, Gregson and Luxford).

In addition, Darcy Lang had played just one senior game before 2015 but played 20 this season.

We were definitely blooding talent this year. Jansen and Gore were definitely the next two in line for senior opportunities but it seems neither will be at the club in 2016.

Daresay both clubs have been discussing this since at least early September.

What would be the point in waiting it out. Port and Essendon did that dance, and Port paid exactly what was on the table on day one for Ryder.

Being soft would be just accepting just pick 9 because it is better than pick 14. We have improved on Free Agency position and now have some trade/draft currency. Gore has some decent potential, and we have 9 days to go to make some other moves.

If you thought we were going to get two first rounders and a guy like Cockatoo, you were always going to be disappointed.
that's what I expected and would have settled for 2 firsts as a minimum. We took a mid first second and a third( gore pick 55). Absolute shit deal, esp if we have been negotiating for months. 2 first was minimum.

was Gore injured this year?
Some injuries, but his performances were very promising. I liked him and i think Adelaide will benefit greatly, like Gregson he went late in the draft, but Wells doesn't just pick anybody out of a hat. Gore will be good for the Crows. So the Crows now have picks 9, 13, 28 and 32? Not bad for a team that played and won a final.

I think it's a fair deal, Gore is going to be a good player. It's been conducted well by two clubs who have been sensible and professional.

Of course you think it's a fair deal. Might feel differently if it were your side losing a top 5 player in the competition.

Oh cmon... priddis above danger? I know we all want to talk danger down... but thats really pushing it.

He aint worth two first rounders.

He aint Gary Ablett Jnr.

And kudos to both clubs for not mocking around and getting the deal done asap. Now they can focus on other targets.
I think you did well overall. You were never going to get Danger's full value in return. Unfortunately, free agency is bad for the club loosing the players. We (i.e. PA supporters) now laugh at it 'cos it is your superstar leaving but it will be our time to stress next year when clubs come fishing for Wines and Wingard.
No we didn't. We got garbage for a top 5 player.

How much do you know about Dean Gore? Well, he's the Cat being linked by AFL.com.au's Peter Ryan in a move to Adelaide as Geelong attempts to satisfy the Crows in a trade for Patrick Dangerfield.
Gore was recruited from SANFL club Sturt with pick 55 overall in last year's draft and is yet to debut. The 19-year-old stands at 183cm, is quick, wins his own footy and can run all day. Handy traits.
Gore played 11 games for Geelong's VFL team this year and was named in the best six times.

You are clutching at straws with that list....

I get the Danger sprays it, and doesn't do the damage he probably could, but I'd be taking him a million times before Priddis. Fyfe and Pendlebury no.

No mate. Averaged 21 disposals, 4 clearances, 6 tackles at VFL level.
But that's all I've got as I haven't seen him play.

He had shoulder issues this year. He missed quite a few games this year. Seemed to be in good form at the start and at the end of the yr in the VFL.

Can anyone tell me, can he kick? Can he hit a target?

this was about what I thought we would get, anyone thinking we were gonna get more are delusional, Geelong have won but weve made them give up a bit and its a lot better than getting nothing.

it all depends on what we do with the picks.

No he's not, but not worth two first rounders? What chances does anybody have of selecting a player that is going to end up being anywhere near as good as Dangerfield in the first round any time soon? **** all. Draft picks are so horribly overrated by all and sundry in the AFL world. Dangerfield is a proven elite talent.
