If we end up with 9, 13, 20 (assuming Geelong trade up their 2nd) and 32 I think it can be a pretty exciting draft for us, use 9 on Milera and 13 on Burton then 20 on the best KPD that's left and 32 to fill another need, ruckman perhaps. We are still getting reamed through this danger trade, only in a humid environment this time so its not as dry. Gore I don't know enough about to comment but he looks alright in the video, would want to know the knock on him to slide to 55 though. Still would love 2 firsts and a Gore but as the Prictorians on AFL.com say, we should be grateful for the 3 good years he put in and thank him for leaving a growing and tight-nit club that has exited the toughest year of any AFL club ever..... tossers.
I'm not sure we'll take that many live picks into the draft.
Got 5 free spots, 2 being filled with ROB & Kelly, another supposedly for Hampton.
So 2 spots for 9 & 13.
And then use 28 and fringe players for other trades.... Hopefully.

On surface it does not look like a very good deal for us, however, how this pans out in the long run depends entirely what picks 9 and 28 turn into (either trade or most likely draft) and what Gore turns into.

Like with the Judd trade, time will be the judge but **** me it feel like we just got butt stuffed without the lube!

Geelong make out with the robbery.

Geelong would have made out with robbery if we got nothing in respect to Danger leaving except for the compo from the AFL. The fact that they didn't want to lodge RFA papers and went straight to a trade I found very interesting. They know they are paying Paddy less and they didn't want him to see other clubs offers for him and allow him to consider those other offers.

And from Essendon. You have to pay overs with Essendon to get things done normally.
If you were an Essendon fan would you care if they demand overs (like Carlisle for 5)?

If you can find one Essendon fan that criticizes their stance I'd gladly admit I'm wrong.

Nothing wrong with holding out.

Might be the first official day of the trade period, but you would be ignorant to think that Geelong and Crows hadn't been talking for weeks regarding this trade. It's only the first day in official terms.
And kudos to both clubs for not mocking around and getting the deal done asap. Now they can focus on other targets.
I think you did well overall. You were never going to get Danger's full value in return. Unfortunately, free agency is bad for the club loosing the players. We (i.e. PA supporters) now laugh at it 'cos it is your superstar leaving but it will be our time to stress next year when clubs come fishing for Wines and Wingard.

Well that might be your prediction - but you are just guessing. AFC might be working on a few more deals yet ...

One thing for sure, wish I had a steak knives business this time of year ... I'd be sold out.
Heaven, I'm in heaven! :D

Who gives a crap about what Essendon fans think? They are a very deluded lot and not helped by Dodoro who overrates his own list badly and is a nightmare to deal with from other clubs perspectives.

was Gore injured this year?

What has that got to do with it?

Their club is pig headed and they forced out a better deal from Port last year as a result.

What is wrong with waiting to try and get Geelong a little sweaty when Danger cries in their ears to appease you guys?

So we're saying Geelongs first pick and pick 28…and Gore?

I thought Geelong were going to get him for FREE in the spirit of free agency.:D

We were always losing PD, but this is a long way from 'free'. Meh, way better than merely the compo pick. Not to my wishes but not the end of the world.

Still, would prefer to dump him in the draft even if only to see Connor's head explode.

And you can bet your arse that we have a reputation for being soft, and accepting unders.

If this pathetic deal is accurate, then we've further reinforced that reputation.

Daresay both clubs have been discussing this since at least early September.

What would be the point in waiting it out. Port and Essendon did that dance, and Port paid exactly what was on the table on day one for Ryder.

Being soft would be just accepting just pick 9 because it is better than pick 14. We have improved on Free Agency position and now have some trade/draft currency. Gore has some decent potential, and we have 9 days to go to make some other moves.

If you thought we were going to get two first rounders and a guy like Cockatoo, you were always going to be disappointed.

Disgusted with this deal. 1 mid first round draft pick, 1 mid second round draft pick, 1 completely unproven player drafted with pick 55. Geelong saw the opportunity to bend us over instead of doing a fair deal and went with it. Danger said he wanted a fair deal for both clubs, he should be unhappy knowing Adelaide didn't get a fair deal.

Would have actually liked to see Traitorfield in the draft as well just to see Mardi face when Brisbane picked him up lol
