Thats not an extraordinary reason. I am sure they have hospitals in Adelaide.
Sheehan still on TV in 2025 is the most disturbing part of that picture"Patrick, you've been a great player for Carlton, even though they didn't make the finals during the six years you were there. Are you disappointed that Geelong were not able to offer Adelaide adequate compensation for you?"
Sheehan still on TV in 2025 is the most disturbing part of that picture![]()
Are you saying that everything that roo says during his comedy based radio show is fact and his true position
Its extroadinary for michaelangelo rucci because hes never been able to find a vaginaThats not an extraordinary reason. I am sure they have hospitals in Adelaide.
I think we will settle for 2 first rounders after matching. This yrs and next years. Think the AFL is all over it and brought in the futures trading for a circumstance just like this.
Yes. This seems to be the point a lot of people, including the Vic media, are missing. He is a restricted free agent, which is in place to protect clubs from losing the elite players they want to keep, or getting very little for them. Adelaide are absolutely within their rights to match the deal and trade, that's what it's there for.Just remember Dangerfield is a Restricted Free Agent…you will be the ones lobbying to change the rules unless you do a decent trade!
Once we match, free agency is inconsequential to the argument.
I think that will be about it. We might get steak knives thrown in. A pick upgrade or fringe player gfc are happy to lose. But if I was a betting man I'd go with the 2 picks.I think this is how it will play out.
Contracted Geelong players won't be involved in the trade.
Yeah, then it is getting closer to true market value which we don't have a chance of getting from a matching standpoint. It's the middleish ground which we don't necessarily like value wise but may have to abide or PSD which both teams would want to avoid. Fair bit of work been done on this already IMO.I think this is how it will play out.
Contracted Geelong players won't be involved in the trade.
Yes, they will feed us some bullshit to make everyone feel better, yet the fact remains he had decided to leave last year. That's why he wouldn't discuss a contract. The fact also remains that he is leaving as soon as he becomes an RFA.Does anyone else get the vibe there are more to this 'due to personal circumstances' than just Danger wanting to get home?
The use of the word extraordinary in that sentence throws me - I saw Rucci meet with Chapman yesterday shortly after the Crows made the announcement.
The players have seemingly been quite forgiving.
I just wonder whether, without speculating (and I have no idea) but something along the lines of his Mrs is pregnant, family sickness (hopefully not), etc ... something along those lines that is drawing him home.
And then display them for all to see at the trade table...If we can get two first rounders, take it and run.
How would Geelong be shafting Adelaide? Geelong wouldn't be breaking any rules and Geelong is well within its rights to maximise its takings in every deal. The FA system is a complete joke, as is the way that compensation is afforded. But that's not Geelong's problem and it's not incumbent upon Geelong to bridge the gap of unfairness in a system which it didn't implement and quite possibly doesn't even condone. But what's a club to do? All that Geelong need concern itself with is what's best for Geelong. Lobby to AFL house if you don't like your comp.
And on a side note, by matching Adelaide could just as easily be shafting Geelong. With demands of multiple first round picks PLUS asking for a required player who is contracted, a rigid and inflexible demand will result in Geelong walking away. Just because Geelong has committed to Danger doesn't mean it has committed to being shafted by Adelaide in a trade, either.
As much as you all would like to bang on about how Adelaide has the upper hand, I'm at pains to point out that that it really isn't the case.
For a circumstance exactly like this one...as in this exact one...I think we will settle for 2 first rounders after matching. This yrs and next years. Think the AFL is all over it and brought in the futures trading for a circumstance just like this.
You are certainly being painful.
Matching will be done. Ball is now in geelongs court.
God I love that movie! In regards to this, yes Roo's breakfast show is a comedy show somewhat - lighthearted humour. However, the interview you/we are referring to with Mark Ricciuto hinting at the fact that we WILL match wasn't on his breakfast show at all. He came in for an interview on the Sport Show (which is a lot more serious that the breakfast show) to do his interview. If you think the Crows won't match, you're
