Anyone who wants us to accept a 2016 first round pick, can you please tell me what pick thst would be?

Can we put any stipulations on this pick? for example, it must be a top 10 pick?

I can not see why the crows would accept a pick with so many unknowns attached to it.

Not sure exactly what this means, but who else saw Rory being interviewed a few minutes ago at the Brownlow & said something close to "Hope Paddy can win it as we (Adelaide) might get some perks from him winning that we can utilise"

Could be the 2 First Round Picks as compensation if Paddy wins?

Thoughts?

I think he was thinking something along the lines of a private room for the medalist and their teammates to party in by the sounds of it.

Means Geelong need to cough up more.

I understand that it's upsetting for you guys, but emotions shouldn't form part of the equation. You'll never be satisfied with the trade deal in that case. We will walk before handing you what would ultimately satisfy you. Whatever the outcome is, be prepared for a further round of disappointment.
I would loov it, loov it, if Geelong walked away from the trade table. The fall out would be worth losing the compo pick just for the lels.

Im leaning towards a switch of firsts to be on the cards.
With a switch of seconds as wel... which isn't a huge loss on second round this year by all reports...
Compo for danger.
Switch of firsts and seconds...
Would that get it done?
So are we trading or accepting the compo offer? Can't be doing both.

Everyone is fine talking about how reasonable they are being and how amicable negotiations are... right up until the time comes to settle on a price.
How often do you walk out of the shop thinking you just got sold a bargain, only to get home and look on the net and....WTF!

If he does win and is reigning club BnF winner and Brownlow Medallist, coupled with his salary, could the compensation be one that the GM of Football Operations needs to adjudicate?

As good as Buddy is, he did not win a Brownlow nor was he Hawthorns reigning BnF winner in 2013. He won the Peter Crimmins Medal in 2008. Surely winning a Brownlow, the AFL's highest official individual honour, would carry a fair bit of weighting in the quantitative analysis done in the calculation.

COMPENSATION

A club that has a net loss of players transferring to/from other clubs as free agents in one transfer period is entitled to compensation via National Draft picks allocated by the AFL.

The compensation formula produces a points rating for players based on:

1. The new contract of the free agent;
2. The age of the free agent.

Draft picks are allocated to clubs based on the net total points for free agents lost and gained during the transfer period.

Draft picks will be allocated to one of five places:

• 1st round
• end of 1st round
• 2nd round
• end of 2nd round
• 3rd round

In applying the formula, an expert committee reviews the formula outcomes. The committee has the power to recommend alternative outcomes to GM – Football Operations where the formula produces a materially anomalous result.

Anywhere from pick 1 to pick 18

Not sure if serious?

To except compensation from the AFL would hand Dangerfield to Geelong at no cost or pain. Why should the AFL do their dirty work?
If he is going to be representing their club they should be stepping up to the trade table. They have been pushing trades against other clubs for Henderson etc. knowing their major signing would require their first round picks. Completely arrogant thinking on their part. Surely they didn't expect us to not match and except the crumbs from the AFL?

Interesting words from Bucks there on 360...

Neil Balme said at the end of last year when he came across from Geelong that he genuinely had no idea what Danger's intentions were either way, and it was a 50/50 about where he would play, Geelong or Adelaide. The club loyalty pull vs the family pull.

Despite all the other clubs trying and asking the question, there has only ever been two clubs in the running for Danger. Roos denied the 10 million dollar offer as well.

Neither Geelong or Adelaide will walk away from a deal. A deal will happen, whether it satisfies both parties remains to be seen, but a deal will happen. Stop with the fanciful bullshit about the PSD or whatever, it simply won't occur. The only times that deals go that way are when there is a clear disharmony between club and player, which isn't the scenario in this case.

Acting tough and mighty on BF means jackshit in the scheme of things, so perhaps either stick to the Geelong board or cease posting that rubbish.

I recon if the AFL were to offer us pick 3 as compo I am pretty sure that we'd take it

I believe 100% that Danger is going to Geelong for his own personal reasons and part of that is family.

He is not joining a club on the up or in a Premiership window, in fact they are about to churn a fair proportion of their best 22 due to old age. That and the fact they barely have any real young stars (Motlop is 24) coming through means he will spend the best years of his career in a team rebuilding after a long and successful time at the top.

He aint going to Geelong to win anything but Brownlows and BnFs.
