I'm not standing on a high horse by any means but I have great respect for him facing up to his demons and fixing em!Yep poor taste, my bad guys.
Not sure if it was mentioned yesterday but Brett Anderson (AFL journalist and AFLDraft analyst forInsideFooty & SENfooty according to his Twitter bio) said on SEN yesterday that his 'mail' is Danger to Geelong in return for Pick 9, 2016 second rounder and a player. As for the player he says we 'inquired' about Cockatoo but it's likely to be one of the SA boys (Gore, Gregson, Murdoch all mentioned as possibilities).
David Schwarz seemed stunned by that trade (I presume he's in the Hutchy camp ["A 4th round pick will get it done"]).

Ox is like so many others that have not looked at the issue in any more depth than cursory and then try to comment. Nothing beats Motlop trying to smother the umpire bouncing the ball. Eloquently stupid.I always blamed DMac for that incident. There needs to be a use of the brain, he's running past a player who is getting ready to dispose of the ball and there is always a chance the player with the free kick/mark might dispose the ball to the left or the right instead of straight ahead. If Danger had been thinking about the possibility of a teammate running into an area where he might be disposing of the ball, then he's really not thinking right because he should be 100% focused on the disposal and execution, not if some numpty teammate decides to stroll past him only about a meter away.
Not for mine. Whilst he perhaps shouldn't have been in that area how many times do you see that every week ?? I mean was it the unpires fault that Hartlett kicked it to him ??I always blamed DMac for that incident. THE AGE NEWSPAPER:
Dangerfield has been the Cats' key target, for he is a proven superstar who will re-ignite their midfield, while also being a dynamic option inside attacking 50. The Cats have offered him about $800,000 a season over six years, and Dangerfield wants to be near his hometown of Moggs Creek.
Dangerfield's manager Paul Connors has said a trade, rather than turning to free agency compensation for the Crows, will almost certainly be the best route for the two clubs. For this to be done, the Cats are set to offer first-and-second round draft picks, although a player could yet be involved.
"He (Dangerfield) is a great player. He brings absolute quality whatever team he goes to. He is that rare combination of contested ball winner but also explosive out of the contest," Ling said.
Gotta laugh at people unable to distinguish between 8 years of loyal service making scones for the CWA and 8 years of being a professional sportsman earning 800k per year.Apparently all other employers bend over backwards to assist employees to join their competitors.
Talk about everyone changing their positions on Dangerfield TRADE

"The compo pick, Pick 14, feels about right for Patty"This would be the same Connors who declared the compo pick was all or nothing?

It was totally a Dangerfield error, I think people find it easier to blame DMac though
It's what port & essendon attempted last year & we all know what the Afl thought...I just see that whole 'take the compensation pick then get a lopsided trade with geelong' thing as a fast track to draft tampering/manipulation/something that will get us (and only us) in trouble with the AFL.
It isnt within the spirit of the free agency compensation and I dont like it. will be disappointed if the club go down that road.
Under the previous coach, ThompsonThey won 3 flags in 5 years. I'd suggest they're pretty reasonable at it.
I suppose my question is about whether our push to get a good return is based purely on getting the best possible return back for Danger or whether making Geelong have to give something up (rather than getting Danger for free) also influences our decision?
Will depend on our other trades & how many live picks we take with the 2 rookies being upgraded, we may only draft 2 players in nd if we deem a lack of quality.Does anybody have an idea how many players we need to cut if we lose Danger for two picks and an additional player?

People need to take what Connors, or any other player manager says with a grain of salt. They don't care about the wishes of any clubs involved in prospective deals. They are duty bound to do one thing, and that is to do the best job for their client. All Connors wants to see, is Dangerfield to end up at his preferred destination with the least amount of worry and hassle.
