No.

Buses are either for:
Level Crossing Removals.
Metro Tunnel and associated stuff.
Gippsland Rail upgrade

There's only Pakenham Dandenong Westall Caulfield where trains can overtake. Westall is the easiest as it has a bypass track and extra platform.

East Pakenham will have bypass tracks to allow metro trains terminate out of the way of Vline trains

Thanks for that.

This news story has done nothing the train service down my way:
V/Line chief executive Matt Carrick apologised to the passengers on the train and said the investigation into what happened was ongoing, but a brake issue caused the delay.

Mr Carrick said the "primary cause" of the delay was the breakdown rather than access to the station.'

'Silvia Krambeck, 68, from Traralgon, said passengers were told one of the reasons for the lengthy delay was because the train had lost its window to access Richmond station.'

Dan got plenty of credit for doing things ... fix it Dan.

Maybe the comm games was sacrificed to help keep the Grand Prix?

It’ll be interesting to see how the people who thought the comm games should have been kept whatever, then argue being ransomed to keep the Grand Prix was also a bad thing

It is a bit of an interesting question for those who are more regular posters in here: why do you post in here, this thread specifically? What is the point of it?

Is it a need to share experiences, to read up on Andrews' failings? Is it because ranting feels better than saying nothing? It's certainly not to try and drum up anti Labor support.

Why do you post in here?

Frustration with ineffective Government & a rabble in Opposition.
We saw it with Shorten losing the unloseable & another term from Morrison.
Dan romped home last time out with an Opposition about as good as the 2023 Eagles.

We see how effective the Robodebt inquiry was, how effective the Sofronoff inquiry is, & we Victorians look back at the Coate Inquiry, the Lawyer X shamozzle ....
We've been here before.

Why do people post in the Scott Morrison thread when he's no longer Prime Minister?

What's the point of any of this?

Venting frustrations mostly. I have also applauded a few good things that he’s done too.
Is that a fair answer?

I’m assuming, your question that you posed is genuine and that you wanted to start a legit conversation from it?
If so, I find it strange that a moderator has laughed at the first answer to your question. Kinda defeats the purpose.

Thanks Foucault.

But in all seriousness, people usually have a reason for the things they do. If you don't want to say why you keep finding yourself posting in here (or simply reading and reacting) you don't have to, I was just curious.

Same here adogsfan.

Posted a lot in here a lot from COVID where many of the more extreme decisions were hyper-conservative and on the presumption that we had an unlimited supply of money (although some still think that government debt is unlimited and that we can just print our way out of debt, despite the fact we don't print money in Victoria anymore).

Dan does some good no doubt. He's not benign that's for sure and he's had some hits.

My main gripe with him is that he can't count. Takes on idiotic amounts of debt during overcooked lockdowns, has taken on every infrastructure project known to man like he's accumulating properties in a game of Monopoly, then threw the Comm Games hand grenade in to boot and has blown out the public service to a lever that he now has to put a flame thrower through it.

Good intent is one thing and I do think he has mostly good intent. But the ability to deliver on time and on money (within reason) is integral to this and he fails time and time again on this front. Thus the frustration arises with regularity and thus we are regular ventors/posters in this thread.

I think we forget that all politicians are cut from the same cloth. They are a different breed.

It's not like nothing hasn't been done beyond Pakenham.

But when you have to share tracks with Metro for 60km it doesn't do much.

Some upgrades aren't upgrades either.
That V/Line train that broke down effected Metro trains as well.

In the past Metro could use the Frankston side between the City and Caulfield and get around the issue.

In the last few years they've removed all the crossovers that allowed that to happen. The last going over summer this year.
Where that V/Line train broke down is exactly the last chance trains get to get on the right track.

When that train broke down Dandenong passengers had to get a Frankston train to Caulfield and change trains

Nobody has said the Commonwealth Games should be kept, but keeping F1 was a stroke of genius. It is one of 2 major events that truly showcases Melbourne internationally

People are really angry about the lockdowns, and as I've stated before, many countries, towns, and cities fared far worse than Melbourne. I witnessed this first hand while travelling during COVID.

Some places didn't enforce lockdowns for a long time, but people chose to stay at home. Things deteriorated before improving, leading to subsequent lockdowns. Many places maintained their curfews much longer than Melbourne. When Melbourne lifted its nighttime curfew, most places still had theirs in place.

Many hospitality and entertainment businesses in other countries, especially those reliant on tourism, were devastated. Did this not happen in Melbourne.

It's just a bit of a peculiar question, especially for a mod to ask. If you're giving up your effort to help this little community of people, you should have a grasp on that answer, otherwise why are you here?

& it came at a cost that differed based on each State & Territory. Now its time to pay the piper.
