had not been proposed by health experts, although they ultimately supported the move as a way to limit transmission of the virus.
Do you remember the time Sutton publicly contradicted Dan on something and Dan shunned him?

Did they have a choice ?

I don’t even care about the curfew decision specifically, but rather that it demonstrates that the “We will always listen to the health advice” ethos that was clearly not completely true.

Then when you analyse all of the other variables selected, you can see why the Andrews’ government’s hyper-conservatism as left us in such a financial hole.

Of course if you criticised some of the measures in here and recommended some more sensible tweaks, you were labelled a “cooker” by many in here.

yes, they could have told him that it wouldn't be helpful and that it wouldn't work

they didn't.

whether it was cost effective is a different question but not solvable (too many value judgements)

See this is the kind of big brained behaviour I think of when I see people litigating (whether Sutton really supported) the pandemic curfews in mid 2025.

I suppose we can add a segment of cladding below the Skyrail to the "more debt" basket. Cheers to the Libs and the company that's been subcontracted out for running these billboards.

Also a fine metaphor for the Coalition's approach to public transport in Victoria I guess.

Oh. Surprise. Click bait.

What would have happened if they didn't?

These days, I think it went on too long. Many jurisdictions made many mistakes, but the conspiracy theories are just bonkers.

They would have been sacked like every other public servant who didn’t agree with a decision Dan made.

Let's assume that's true.

How many have come out NOW and said they did not agree, but were forced to agree under threat of losing their jobs?

Let's get some evidence on the table.

Well they like Brett, probably still work for the government so bit hard to do so…

It doesn't say they didn't listen to the health advice. It says the measure was proposed by the government and ultimately supported by the health experts.

No I don't but that's not to say it didn't occur.

If a health expert in Sutton's position had the integrity I would hope someone in that role does then they should be standing by their position regardless of whether they think the politicians will be happy with it only not.

True, but it’s clear evidence, along with outdoor mask use, banning playground visits, painfully slow reopening measures and making people wear masks from tables in pubs to take a leak, that our government erred on the side of hyper-conservatism, no matter the source for the decision.

If only they were so conservative on securing the hotel quarantine!

Dan the man should be thrown in the hoosegow! I along with thousands of other people lost their business, saw friendships and relationships falter, freedom ripped out from underneath them and innocent Victorian people in trouble with the law for just walking down the street! This power crazed premier destroyed lives at will.
