A few Dan highlights from Saturday's game vs Gold Coast

He's just such a natural footballer. Even in the very first play in that package, he just knows how to tap the loose ball into the ground so it will bounce up, and he can take it without breaking stride. Knows where the players are around him, so he can use his long reach to reposition a ground ball away from opponents and to a teammate's advantage.

Saturday was the highest-rated game of Curtin's career (13.3, narrowly edging out the 12.5 against the Western Bulldogs). Interesting given he didn't take any shots on goal. He does so many clever little things.
He is adept at getting a knock out to advantage from a groundball situation and for a big guy, that is quite impressive. We all know how good his field kicking is and he can bust a tackle as good as anyone. So much to look forward to with this guy...CMON crows, announce he has signed a long long term contract extension.

Amazing how both him and Thilthorpe are better below their knees than half our smalls, we are absolutely spoilt with those 2.

Dan is coming along beautifully, a proper breakout game and RS nomination are surely not too far away.

That pickup, spotup to Fog from the Smurph grubber was just perfection.

He's still massively under the radar outside of our team and it's supporters. I wouldn't be surprised if he goes through the whole season without a RS nomination despite playing well.

All the more reason for us to try to get him to sign long term while there is less noise about his performances. As an aside, we will get to see O'Sullivan tomorrow for Geelong, whom I feel we would have drafted if Dan had no longer been on the board at our pick. O'Sullivan looks a really good prospect too from the limited games played so far this year.

The nous in respect of the tap to Neal-Bullen and kicks forward for Fogarty’s goals are the signs of a serious footballer.

Seems to very rarely waste the ball or make the wrong decision.

Another one who you are just comfortable with ball in hand.
We are getting a few of those now.

yeah, good call. He has made the odd error when making a decision, but the majority of the time, he just makes the right choice and has the skills to execute. I wonder if the role we have him in now is one that he himself is really enjoying, meaning that in his draft year, people saw him as a defender wheres now we are showing faith in him not just up forward but to roam around the ground. I hope so and it factors into his long term vision with us

I found all the teeth gnashing about him not 'nailing a position town', extremely grating. He was always a player to just let him roam around and it's paying dividends.

Some may be disappointed with this player comparison, but I think this is where Curtin is going to end up - 2023 Mason Wood

That is, someone who can take a contested mark off a wing, collect possessions, have a great field kick, and bob up for a goal now and then. Keep in mind Wood was in line for AA conversations for some of 2023

Maybe not a standout player - but a structurally important, yet ‘sexy’ player

Yeah nah he's going to be a lot better than that

Nah he’ll be more Mason African Blackwood

Always liked having a tall marking wingman... with good kicking skills.

Should aim for him more in kickouts 1 on 1... rather than our ruckman.

I've got 2005-2011 Andrew Embley in my mind at the moment.
