If he wants to get to West Coast makes sense. 3 years they should start to be on the up. If not, can stay in SA.

I’m happy for another 3 years after this year. Will see where he is at and give the club plenty of time to work on him becoming a crow for life.

Three years should also put us in a position where he will be past the "lots of potential" stage and starting to put together genuine performances. So if we do lose him, at least we will be able to ask for something serious in return.

He is a Freo support iirc...they could use him now I would have thought and with any luck, as it gets closet to Dan being out of contract, Freo and down in the dumps in a rebuild (no offence to any Freo supporters checking this, its purely so it helps us keep Dan)

Freo have the 3rd youngest list right now

I wonder how GWS are feeling now, passing that pick on to us and then grabbing a small guy that doesn't look very good
They also got Ash with the pick they got from us & we got...

Wasn’t he touted as a top 3 pick for much of the lead up to the draft?
He's looking like he will be a top #3 too.

#1 Reid looks like he will be a gun, but a temperamental one.

Not many others tracking ahead of Curtin.

#3 Walter looks worth his pick.

#5 Watson done more to now, but i would prefer Curtin for the future.

#6 Sanders looks like a decent midfielder, but not as special as Curtin.

#7 Ditto with Windsor.

Reckon we got a bargain at #8.

North took McKercher #2 & Dursma #4 ... wind them up for Tassie.

Why Duursma? He's a Vic boy

You can really see what he has the potential to be and that is one of the best players in the comp once he really hardens his body and has a top end fitness base. This year he has started to realize he is strong physically and can dominate a contest.
Reminds me a lot of Fog in his development. Has pretty much all the attributes in marking, strength in both aerial and ground work. Also looks good in either role as a forward and potential midfielder. Showed some glimpses in his first season, but didn’t carry it through for the entire first season.

Both averaging around 10 disposals in their second seasons, but damaging impact with their disposals. And like Fog, Curtin looks to be at least an A-grader if he can keep leveling up his fitness, disposals and consistency. Though I think Curtin might get there earlier than Fog, in relative terms.

Bring home that rising star award big fella.. time to shine.

I'd love to see him be almost selfish in the way of just taking a game on and straight lining the ball.
Often he allows team mates to take a possession that he was entitled to if he was more demanding.
It will come with time and confidence but when it clicks its going to really click!

Great work from all.
3 years for Dan is perfect. Will have him ready for a bumper new contract. Could be an elite player by then
3 years for us is also excellent. Will have complete clarity on what his peak will look like.

Very happy for this. For a guy that I had heard was not fitting in well when he first came over, he certainly seems very comfortable now.

Key point is it's a 3 year extension. Not 3 years from today. He was already signed through end of 2026.

He is on track to play all the games this year - then we have him for 4 more years after that (26,27,28,29). Absolutely massive.
