Great news that he's finally back, I f***ing love this kid!!!
I can vividly remember sitting on my couch nearly exactly 4 years ago and seeing him being stretchered off in the QF vs Hawthorn....and all of the other knee injuries he's gone through since then.

I'm absolutely kicking myself that I won't be able to see his comeback game (not even on TV ) but I might try to get the AFL Live pass 2-week free trial or something like that.

But anyways, Let's hope he can kick off where he left off tomorrow night!!

yup, first time I've bothered to change mine; happy to pay tribute to the Menz.

hope he gets through the game first and foremost, but really just excited to see him back and hoping he can reproduce some of the magic he last displayed 4 long years ago.

Awesome news, also really really nice to see that he is named in the forward pocket and not on the bench. Although part of me thinks it would be pretty cool too see him start on the bench (not as sub), just to hear the roar when he then enters the field of play for the first. Because I reckon there would almost be more people watching the interchange gates waiting for him to run on for the first time, as would be watching the game - the noise from the crowd might only challenge the noise for when he gets his first mark, first handball, first kick, first goal, hell, probably every touch he gets tomorrow night.

I love the idea but passing until Saturday to make the change (maybe).
I had a Menzel avatar from when I joined, kept it through all his injuries and only changed earlier this year for Enright's 300th. His comeback seemed to amp up after that and I'm too scared to change it back to him at the moment.

I love Dan and can't wait for tomorrow night, same with the nerves & shivers especially while waiting to find out the team announcement on the train home tonight.

I remember after the 2011 season I got one of the premiership guernseys, with all pre-orders you got a free number on the back and I agonised between getting #3 & #10 because this was going to the first number I had worn since I was a kid; Menz was special, there was something about watching him that season and I was really close to going with the #10 but decided to go the #3 as Jimmy played in the match but it was a really really tough call. When time falls on Jimmys career, it will be replaced with the #10 because there isn't another number I would want to wear.

I've been running for nearly two years with my avatar pic of Menz with my son at the Coffs Harbour pre-season trip of December '13 in anticipation of his return.

And finally the moment has arrived.

For me, there are a lot of compelling reasons to support the Geelong Football Club. And the way the club has stuck by #10 through the arduous journey to see him back ready to play at the top level is certainly prominent amongst them.

So proud of the club for all they have done to make this moment possible.

Yet even prouder of the young man who has never given up on his dream to return to the field of play and truly make his mark in the hoops.

Whatever happens from here, this will always be one of the greatest footy stories I have had the privilege to witness.

And I can only hope that there is lots more of the tale to be told in the years to come.

Go, Dan, go!

I look forward to updating my avatar with a pic of his first goal celebration tomorrow night.

Although the moment where he kicks his fourth might actually be better.

Seriously, though, 'inspirational' just seems a wholly inadequate descriptor for what we are going to see tomorrow night.
