In his debut year:

Games:9
Averaged 5.44 kicks, 3.22 marks, 3.56 handballs and kicked 9 goals.

With a full pre-season under his belt, what can we realistically expect from Darcy in his second year?

To start with his games played should rise considerably. Barring injury disaster he should spend most of his time as a forward and should start to hit the scoreboard more consistently. His disposal numbers are low so we would hope to see an increase there. He is the type of player who can influence a game without having high numbers though.

By comparison, in Cloke's second year he averaged 11.4 disposals but could only manage 6 goals with his breakout year coming in his third season.

So what will it be for Moore?

Breakout, slight improvement or go backwards?

I normally like to use the following options:
1. Praise him
2. Ignore him
3. Kick him

I think he'll be praised for most of the early part of the season if he takes a few high marks and kicks a few goals. However, I think people will start of ignore him if he doesn't take a few games by the scruff of the neck. Option 3 is for next year.

He didn't show an ability to win too many more disposals in the NAB cup, what he did show was an ability to get marks closer to goal. I'd hope for 4.5 marks per game and 1-1.5 goals a game. Less than 1 goal per game would be a poor return (assuming he plays predominantly inside 50) and more than 1.5 would be amazing.

slight improvement and somewhere between 20-30 goals.
this year still a learning year, will have one or two games where he will kick 4-5 goals, next year I reckon
will be his break out party

Now that Varcoe is injured he should get all the goals.

150 minimum.
That's it, breaking Hudson and Pratt record
(Now that Varcoe injured)

Will be the best big forward since Peter McKenna. I've said it a hundred times.

This kid will be a phenomenon.

He's mine. All mine. I'll share with him with all the believers. The doubters can't doubt but this kid will be the big man in the game. We need to extend his contract by 5 years.

Peter McKenna was 191cm, so smaller than a lot of midfielders.

I am happy if he kicks goals but what I like about him is his quick thinking.
I can still see his quick hand pass whilst on the ground to another player who then kicks the goal.

If they give us picks 1,2,3 Petracca, brayshaw, viney and hogan, well, then I might be willing to swap. If even chuck in josh Thomas to slightly favour them and get the deal done.

But we rock steady on keeping Jesse White? Untouchable?
