Like Reid we settled him as a defender and then moved him up forward. Moore isn't settled in either position

Don't think it'll impact his confidence, but it was definitely too early to bring him in.
I think we're beginning to see Bucks' favourites and I'm not liking it.
Yeah, we need Moore to replace White sometime in the future, or be a part of that set up.... but I'd actually prefer to make finals, and rather gift games for development, actually play the best 22 so we can ******* win instead.
I don't think there needed to be any rush on Moore's return. It's mind boggling to say the least as to why he was selected in the first place, and why he was then selected again.
How is it not believable?I dont think its 'favourites' that we are seeing, more like a carefully planned and thoughtfully considered strategy to introduce teenagers to senior football. This stuff about Bucks having 'favourites' that he picks against all odds, endangers our chances of winning, and puts our entire season on the line with...nah, just not believable. There are so many variables about team selection that we are not privy too. And then when a new kid plays badly, and its the end of the world as we know it...we can blame Bucks for picking 'favourites'.

But he needs to be able to settle in one spot he has chopped and changed in the VFL sideMoore's only played two senior games.![]()

Coaches have favourites. Simple as that. History has shown us this time and time again.
Are you denying this?

Played the week before didn't he? I mean half this board is saying Greenwood will play yet he has played less.
Psychologists would disagree. Footy coaches are very human and generally not autistic rocket scientists. Humans have their likes and dislikes and some of this is very much NOT based on a hard nosed objective assessment of players relative football merits. This happens with varying degrees of subtlety in every field of human endeavor where there are people in leadership/management roles. People aren't machines, their subjective personal biases will influence their decisions to some degree or other even subconsciously.Yes, I think I am. The coach's assessment of the value of one player over another could be (and probably is) very different to the average fan. Maybe the coach has 'preferences', based on a wide range of team and goal oriented considerations, but that's different to 'favourites', which implies one player being 'favoured' over another without sufficient justification.
And maybe I have just dug myself a very big hole full of semantics...

I understand your but when they started him as a defender for mine he should have played the whole season there and then go forward next year.Look, I tend to agree with you re the VFL. But my post related to the senior team, with Darcy being 'settled' there seemingly a long way off.
Yet there are exceptions. I was managing a wholesale business and I couldn't stand one of my employees (character, values, morals) but she did her job damn well. When it came to salary reviews/bonus were calculated I based it purely on her work and didn't take a subjective view.Psychologists would disagree. I think 'fast tracking' is a buzz word that doesn't mean much in reality. Everyone is different and playing players in the seniors doesn't have to mean they will get better quicker. Take Reid for example. I would argue his full season in the VFL as a defender helped him develop better than his very early games as a forward in the seniors.
However for a player like de Goey that already dominates the VFL he should be given games in the AFL.
I wasn't against Moore debuting but I think its an exaggeration to suggest it will make him a better player.
But you guys didn't play Paddy up forward one week and down back the next.. Darcy should have been playing tomorrow in the VFL up forward.Kid will be a gun. No doubt about it. I think its good for young KPPs to play a couple of AFL games early in their careers and then take them back to the VFL to further develop him. It has worked with Paddy for us and I'm sure it'll work for Darcy. Good luck!
Sexism?Zip it with the sexism Dave.
And it's getting tired. Whether you believe it to be or not, most of the regular female posters on this board have already expressed their distaste at the derogatory implications of Jesse being labelled a girl.Sexism?I also call him Jessica...

I don't call him Jessica implying he plays like a girl at all. I agree with you. I just call him Jessica because his names Jessie lol. Nothing more to it?And it's getting tired. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong Vicky Park Maggie5 Magpie Girl
He got a game in the AFL on the back of 3 goals. But he only had 3 kicks for the day. The week before he was goaless. Wasn't exactly banging the door down. Don't get me wrong I think the kid has enormous talent, but what was the rush?
Moore is a Forward and should play and stay there
We can only ever take a subjective view... it's how we work consciously or unconsciously. Some, like you, perhaps are better at controlling or minimizing subjectivity and bias and that is a great trait in a leader. I was not saying Bucks has an issue here... I was just arguing a point of fact... All people are influenced by subjective personal bias in their decision making to some degree and to differing degrees in differing times/situations. It's how we're wired and Bucks is no exception.Yet there are exceptions. I was managing a wholesale business and I couldn't stand one of my employees (character, values, morals) but she did her job damn well. Maybe coaches do have favourites but I very much doubt that they would be selected if they didn't meet internal benchmarks. It would affect team morale and haven't seen evidence of that to date.
No probs. there are others, including Dave, who use the name for a different purpose.I don't call him Jessica implying he plays like a girl at all. I agree with you. I just call him Jessica because his names Jessie lol. Nothing more to it?
